1 Senhor meu Deus, em ti confio; salva-me de todos os que me perseguem, e livra-me;2 Para que ele não arrebate a minha alma, como leão, despedaçando-a, sem que haja quem a livre.3 Senhor meu Deus, se eu fiz isto, se há perversidade nas minhas mãos,4 Se paguei com o mal àquele que tinha paz comigo (antes, livrei ao que me oprimia sem causa),5 Persiga o inimigo a minha alma e alcance-a; calque aos pés a minha vida sobre a terra, e reduza a pó a minha glória. (Selá.)6 Levanta-te, Senhor, na tua ira; exalta-te por causa do furor dos meus opressores; e desperta por mim para o juízo que ordenaste.7 Assim te rodeará o ajuntamento de povos; por causa deles, pois, volta-te para as alturas.8 O Senhor julgará os povos; julga-me, Senhor, conforme a minha justiça, e conforme a integridade que há em mim.9 Tenha já fim a malícia dos ímpios; mas estabeleça-se o justo; pois tu, ó justo Deus, provas os corações e as entranhas.10 O meu escudo é de Deus, que salva os retos de coração.11 Deus julga o justo, e se ira com o ímpio todos os dias.12 Se o homem não se converter, Deus afiará a sua espada; já tem armado o seu arco, e está aparelhado.13 E já para ele preparou armas mortais; e porá em ação as suas setas inflamadas contra os perseguidores.14 Eis que ele está com dores de perversidade; concebeu trabalhos, e produziu mentiras.15 Cavou um poço e o fez fundo, e caiu na cova que fez.16 A sua obra cairá sobre a sua cabeça; e a sua violência descerá sobre a sua própria cabeça.17 Eu louvarei ao Senhor segundo a sua justiça, e cantarei louvores ao nome do Senhor altíssimo.

(7:2) O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust; save me from every one of my persecutors, and deliver me:2 (7:3) Lest he tear like a lion my soul, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.3 (7:4) O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be injustice in my hands;4 (7:5) If I have recompensed him that was at peace with me with evil; If I have taken aught from my assailants without cause:5 (7:6) May the enemy hotly pursue my soul, and overtake it; and tread down upon the earth my life, and cause my honor to be in the dust. Selah.6 (7:7) Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.7 (7:8) So shall the congregation of nations compass thee about: and for their sakes return thou to the height.8 (7:9) The Lord will judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity grant me recompense.9 (7:10) Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just, O thou, who triest the hearts and reins, O righteous God.10 (7:11) My protection is by God, who saveth the upright in heath.11 (7:12) God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant with the wicked every day.12 (7:13) If he turn not, He will whet his sword, he bendeth his bow, and maketh it ready.13 (7:14) Also for him he prepareth the instruments of death; he fashioneth his arrows against the persecutors.14 (7:15) Behold, he travaileth with wrong doing; but he hath conceived mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.15 (7:16) He hath hollowed out a pit, and dug it, and is fallen into the ditch which he hath wrought.16 (7:17) His mischief will return upon his own head, and upon his own skull will his violence come down.17 (7:18) I will thank the Lord according to his righteousness; and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord the Most High.
