1 Senhor, ouve a minha oração, e chegue a ti o meu clamor.2 Não escondas de mim o teu rosto no dia da minha angústia, inclina para mim os teus ouvidos; no dia em que eu clamar, ouve-me depressa.3 Porque os meus dias se consomem como a fumaça, e os meus ossos ardem como lenha.4 O meu coração está ferido e seco como a erva, por isso me esqueço de comer o meu pão.5 Por causa da voz do meu gemido os meus ossos se apegam à minha pele.6 Sou semelhante ao pelicano no deserto; sou como um mocho nas solidões.7 Vigio, sou como o pardal solitário no telhado.8 Os meus inimigos me afrontam todo o dia; os que se enfurecem contra mim têm jurado contra mim.9 Pois tenho comido cinza como pão, e misturado com lágrimas a minha bebida,10 Por causa da tua ira e da tua indignação, pois tu me levantaste e me arremessaste.11 Os meus dias são como a sombra que declina, e como a erva me vou secando.12 Mas tu, Senhor, permanecerás para sempre, a tua memória de geração em geração.13 Tu te levantarás e terás piedade de Sião; pois o tempo de te compadeceres dela, o tempo determinado, já chegou.14 Porque os teus servos têm prazer nas suas pedras, e se compadecem do seu pó.15 Então os gentios temerão o nome do Senhor, e todos os reis da terra a tua glória.16 Quando o Senhor edificar a Sião, aparecerá na sua glória.17 Ele atenderá à oração do desamparado, e não desprezará a sua oração.18 Isto se escreverá para a geração futura; e o povo que se criar louvará ao Senhor.19 Pois olhou desde o alto do seu santuário, desde os céus o Senhor contemplou a terra,20 Para ouvir o gemido dos presos, para soltar os sentenciados à morte;21 Para anunciarem o nome do Senhor em Sião, e o seu louvor em Jerusalém,22 Quando os povos se ajuntarem, e os reinos, para servirem ao Senhor.23 Abateu a minha força no caminho; abreviou os meus dias.24 Dizia eu: Meu Deus, não me leves no meio dos meus dias, os teus anos são por todas as gerações.25 Desde a antiguidade fundaste a terra, e os céus são obra das tuas mãos.26 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás; todos eles se envelhecerão como um vestido; como roupa os mudarás, e ficarão mudados.27 Porém tu és o mesmo, e os teus anos nunca terão fim.28 Os filhos dos teus servos continuarão, e a sua semente ficará firmada perante ti.

1 A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out before the Lord his complaint. (102:2) O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.2 (102:3) Hide not thy face from me on the day when I am distressed; incline unto me thy ear; on the day when I call, answer me speedily.3 (102:4) For my days vanish in smoke, and my bones are burning like a hearth.4 (102:5) Struck by heat like the herb and dried up is my heart; for I forget to eat my bread.5 (102:6) Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my flesh.6 (102:7) I am like the pelican of the wilderness: I am become like the owl amid ruins.7 (102:8) I watch, and I am become like a night–bird sitting alone upon the housetop.8 (102:9) All the day my enemies reproach me: they that mock me swear by me.9 (102:10) For ashes do I eat like bread, and my drink I mingle with weeping;10 (102:11) Because of thy indignation and thy wrath; for thou hadst lifted me up, and hast cast me down.11 (102:12) My days are like a shadow that declineth; and like the herb I wither.12 (102:13) But thou, O Lord, wilt sit enthroned for ever; and thy memorial is unto all generations.13 (102:14) Thou wilt indeed arise; thou wilt have mercy upon Zion; for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time is coming.14 (102:15) For thy servants hold dear her stones, and her very dust they cherish.15 (102:16) Then shall nations fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory:16 (102:17) When the Lord shalt have built up Zion, he appeareth in his glory;17 (102:18)When he hath regarded the prayer of the forsaken, and doth not despise their prayer.18 (102:19) This shall be written down for the latest generation; and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.19 (102:20) For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord hath cast from heaven his view to the earth:20 (102:21) To hear the sighing of the prisoner; to loosen those that are doomed to death:21 (102:22) That men may proclaim in Zion the name of the Lord, and his praise in Jerusalem;22 (102:23) When people are gathered together, and kingdoms, to serve the Lord.––23 (102:24) He hath weakened on the way my strength; he hath shortened my days.24 (102:25) I will say, O my God! take me not away in the midst of my days: throughout all generations are thy years.25 (102:26) In olden times didst thou lay the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.26 (102:27) These will indeed perish, but thou wilt ever exist: yea, all of them will wear out like a garment; as a vesture wilt thou change them, and they will be changed;27 (102:28) But thou art ever the same, and thy years will have no end.28 (102:29) The children of thy servants will dwell securely, and their seed will be firmly established before thee.
