1 O meu coração ferve com palavras boas, falo do que tenho feito no tocante ao Rei. A minha língua é a pena de um destro escritor.2 Tu és mais formoso do que os filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou em teus lábios; por isso Deus te abençoou para sempre.3 Cinge a tua espada à coxa, ó valente, com a tua glória e a tua majestade.4 E neste teu esplendor cavalga prosperamente, por causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça; e a tua destra te ensinará coisas terríveis.5 As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei, e por elas os povos caíram debaixo de ti.6 O teu trono, ó Deus, é eterno e perpétuo; o cetro do teu reino é um cetro de equidade.7 Tu amas a justiça e odeias a impiedade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria mais do que a teus companheiros.8 Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra e aloés e cássia, desde os palácios de marfim de onde te alegram.9 As filhas dos reis estavam entre as tuas ilustres mulheres; à tua direita estava a rainha ornada de finíssimo ouro de Ofir.10 Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina os teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa do teu pai.11 Então o rei se afeiçoará da tua formosura, pois ele é teu Senhor; adora-o.12 E a filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.13 A filha do rei é toda ilustre lá dentro; o seu vestido é entretecido de ouro.14 Levá-la-ão ao rei com vestidos bordados; as virgens que a acompanham a trarão a ti.15 Com alegria e regozijo as trarão; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.16 Em lugar de teus pais estarão teus filhos; deles farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.17 Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; por isso os povos te louvarão eternamente.

(45:2) My heart swelleth with a good speech; I say, "My works shall be for the king:" my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.2 (45:3) Thou art more fair than the children of men; grace is poured out over thy lips: therefore hath God blessed thee for ever.3 (45:4) Gird thy sword upon the thigh, O mighty one, it is thy glory and thy majesty;4 (45:5) Yea, it is thy majesty: be prosperous, ride along for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; and fearful things shall thy right hand teach thee.5 (45:6) Thy sharpened arrows––people will fall down beneath thee––will enter into the heart of the king’s enemies.6 (45:7) Thy throne, given of God, endureth for ever and ever: the sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.7 (45:8) Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore hath God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy associates.8 (45:9) Of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia are fragrant all thy garments: out of palaces of ivory have they made thee joyful with the sound of music.9 (45:10) Kings’ daughters are among those dear to thee: the queen standeth on thy right hand in fine gold of Ophir.10 (45:11) Hearken, O daughter, and look, and incline thy ear, and forget thy own people, and thy father’s house:11 (45:12) Then will the king long for thy beauty; for he is thy Lord; and bow thyself to him.12 (45:13) And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift: the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.13 (45:14) All gloriously attired awaiteth the king’s daughter in the inner chamber: of wrought gold is her garment.14 (45:15) In embroidered clothes will she be brought unto the king: virgins that follow her, her companions, are brought unto thee.15 (45:16) They are led forth with rejoicings and gladness, they enter into the palace of the king.16 (45:17) Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children: thou wilt appoint them as princes in all the land.17 (45:18) I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
