1 Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Néhiloth. Eternel! prête l'oreille à mes paroles, entends ma méditation.

2 Mon Roi et mon Dieu! sois attentif à la voix de mon cri; car c'est à toi que j'adresse ma requête.

3 Eternel, entends dès le matin ma voix; dès le matin je me tournerai vers toi, et je serai au guet.

4 Car tu n'es point un Dieu qui prennes plaisir à la méchanceté; le méchant ne séjournera point chez toi.

5 Les orgueilleux ne subsisteront point devant toi; tu as [toujours] haï tous les ouvriers d'iniquité.

6 Tu feras périr ceux qui profèrent le mensonge; l'Eternel a en abomination l'homme sanguinaire et le trompeur.

7 Mais moi comblé de tes bienfaits j'entrerai dans ta maison; je me prosternerai dans le palais de ta sainteté avec les sentiments d'une crainte [respectueuse].

8 Eternel, conduis-moi par ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis; dresse ta voie devant moi.

9 Car il n'y a rien de droit en sa bouche, leur intérieur n'est que malice; leur gosier est un sépulcre ouvert, ils flattent de leur langue.

10 Ô Dieu! fais-leur leur procès, et qu'ils échouent dans leurs entreprises; chasse-les au loin, à cause du grand nombre de leurs transgressions; car ils se sont rebellés contre toi.

11 Mais que tous ceux qui se confient en toi, se réjouissent, qu'ils soient en joie perpétuellement, et que tu sois leur protecteur; et que ceux qui aiment ton Nom, s'égayent en toi!

12 Car, ô Eternel! tu béniras le juste, et tu l'environneras de bienveillance comme d'un bouclier.

2 \5:1\Give ear to my words, O Lord; give thought to my heart-searchings.

3 \5:2\Let the voice of my cry come to you, my King and my God; for to you will I make my prayer.

4 \5:3\My voice will come to you in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I send my prayer to you, and keep watch.

5 \5:4\For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wrongdoing; there is no evil with you.

6 \5:5\The sons of pride have no place before you; you are a hater of all workers of evil.

7 \5:6\You will send destruction on those whose words are false; the cruel man and the man of deceit are hated by the Lord.

8 \5:7\But as for me, I will come into your house, in the full measure of your mercy; and in your fear I will give worship, turning my eyes to your holy Temple.

9 \5:8\Be my guide, O Lord, in the ways of your righteousness, because of those who are against me; make your way straight before my face.

10 \5:9\For no faith may be put in their words; their inner part is nothing but evil; their throat is like an open place for the dead; smooth are the words of their tongues.

11 \5:10\Send them to destruction, O Lord; let their evil designs be the cause of their fall; let them be forced out by all their sins; because they have gone against your authority.

12 \5:11\But let all those who put their faith in you be glad with cries of joy at all times, and let all the lovers of your name be glad in you.

13 \5:12\For you, Lord, will send a blessing on the upright man; your grace will be round him, and you will be his strength.
