1 Fala o Senhor, o Deus supremo; convoca toda a terra, do nascente ao poente.2 Desde Sião, perfeita em beleza, Deus resplandece.3 Nosso Deus vem! Certamente não ficará calado! À sua frente vai um fogo devorador, e, ao seu redor, uma violenta tempestade.4 Ele convoca os altos céus e a terra, para o julgamento do seu povo:5 "Ajuntem os que me são fiéis, que, mediante sacrifício, fizeram aliança comigo".6 E os céus proclamam a sua justiça, pois o próprio Deus é o juiz. Pausa7 "Ouça, meu povo, pois eu falarei; vou testemunhar contra você, Israel: eu sou Deus, o seu Deus.8 Não o acuso pelos seus sacrifícios, nem pelos holocaustos, que você sempre me oferece.9 Não tenho necessidade de nenhum novilho dos seus estábulos, nem dos bodes dos seus currais,10 pois todos os animais da floresta são meus, como são as cabeças de gado aos milhares nas colinas.11 Conheço todas as aves dos montes, e cuido das criaturas do campo.12 Se eu tivesse fome, precisaria dizer a você? Pois o mundo é meu, e tudo o que nele existe.13 Acaso como carne de touros ou bebo sangue de bodes?14 Ofereça a Deus em sacrifício a sua gratidão, cumpra os seus votos para com o Altíssimo,15 e clame a mim no dia da angústia; eu o livrarei, e você me honrará. "16 Mas ao ímpio Deus diz: "Que direito você tem de recitar as minhas leis ou de ficar repetindo a minha aliança?17 Pois você odeia a minha disciplina e dá as costas às minhas palavras!18 Você vê um ladrão, e já se torna seu cúmplice, e com adúlteros se mistura.19 Sua boca está cheia de maldade e a sua língua formula a fraude.20 Deliberadamente você fala contra o seu irmão e calunia o filho de sua própria mãe.21 Ficaria eu calado diante de tudo o que você tem feito? Você pensa que eu sou como você? Mas agora eu o acusarei diretamente, sem omitir coisa alguma.22 "Considerem isto, vocês que se esquecem de Deus; caso contrário os despedaçarei, sem que ninguém os livre.23 Quem me oferece sua gratidão como sacrifício, honra-me, e eu mostrarei a salvação de Deus ao que anda nos meus caminhos. "

1 The Mighty One, God, LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof.2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.3 Our God comes, and does not keep silence. A fire devours before him, and it is very tempestuous round about him.4 He calls to the heavens above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.5 Gather my sanctified together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God is judge himself. Selah.7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify to thee, I am God, [even] thy God.8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, and thy burnt-offerings [being] continually before me.9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he-goats out of thy folds.10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.11 I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are mine.12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee, for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof.13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?14 Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay thy vows to the Most High.15 And call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver thee, and thou shall glorify me.16 But to the wicked man God says, What have thou to do to declare my statutes, and that thou have taken my covenant in thy mouth,17 since thou hate instruction, and cast my words behind thee?18 When thou saw a thief, thou consented with him, and have been partaker with adulterers.19 Thou give thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frames deceit.20 Thou sit and speak against thy brother; thou slander thine own mother's son.21 These things thou have done, and I kept silence. Thou thought that I was altogether such a one as thyself. [But] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.22 Now consider this, ye who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:23 Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me. And to him who orders his way [aright] I will show the salvation of God.
