1 Não se aborreça por causa dos homens maus e não tenha inveja dos perversos;2 pois como o capim logo secarão, como a relva verde logo murcharão.3 Confie no Senhor e faça o bem; assim você habitará na terra e desfrutará segurança.4 Deleite-se no Senhor, e ele atenderá aos desejos do seu coração.5 Entregue o seu caminho ao Senhor; confie nele, e ele agirá:6 Ele deixará claro como a alvorada que você é justo, e como o sol do meio-dia que você é inocente.7 Descanse no Senhor e aguarde por ele com paciência; não se aborreça com o sucesso dos outros, nem com aqueles que maquinam o mal.8 Evite a ira e rejeite a fúria; não se irrite: isso só leva ao mal.9 Pois os maus serão eliminados, mas os que esperam no Senhor receberão a terra por herança.10 Um pouco de tempo, e os ímpios não mais existirão; por mais que os procure, não serão encontrados.11 Mas os humildes receberão a terra por herança e desfrutarão pleno bem-estar.12 Os ímpios tramam contra os justos e rosnam contra eles;13 o Senhor, porém, ri dos ímpios, pois sabe que o dia deles está chegando.14 Os ímpios desembainham a espada e preparam o arco para abaterem o necessitado e o pobre, para matarem os que andam na retidão.15 Mas as suas espadas lhes atravessará o coração, e os seus arcos serão quebrados.16 Melhor é o pouco do justo do que a riqueza de muitos ímpios;17 pois o braço forte dos ímpios será quebrado, mas o Senhor sustém os justos.18 O Senhor cuida da vida dos íntegros, e a herança deles permanecerá para sempre.19 Em tempos de adversidade não ficarão decepcionados; em dias de fome desfrutarão fartura.20 Mas os ímpios perecerão; Os inimigos do Senhor murcharão como a beleza dos campos; desvanecerão como fumaça.21 Os ímpios tomam emprestado e não devolvem, mas os justos dão com generosidade;22 aqueles que o Senhor abençoa receberão a terra por herança, mas os que ele amaldiçoa serão eliminados.23 O Senhor firma os passos de um homem, quando a conduta deste o agrada;24 ainda que tropece, não cairá, pois o Senhor o toma pela mão.25 Já fui jovem e agora sou velho, mas nunca vi o justo desamparado, nem seus filhos mendigando o pão.26 Ele é sempre generoso e empresta com boa vontade; seus filhos serão abençoados.27 Desvie-se do mal e faça o bem; e você terá sempre onde morar.28 Pois o Senhor ama quem pratica a justiça, e não abandonará os seus fiéis. Para sempre serão protegidos, mas a descendência dos ímpios será eliminada;29 os justos herdarão a terra e nela habitarão para sempre.30 A boca do justo profere sabedoria, e a sua língua fala conforme a justiça.31 Ele traz no coração a lei do seu Deus; nunca pisará em falso.32 O ímpio fica à espreita do justo, querendo matá-lo;33 mas o Senhor não o deixará cair em suas mãos, nem permitirá que o condenem quando julgado.34 Espere no Senhor e siga a sua vontade. Ele o exaltará, dando-lhe a terra por herança; quando os ímpios forem eliminados, você o verá.35 Vi um homem ímpio e cruel florescendo como frondosa árvore nativa,36 mas logo desapareceu e não mais existia; embora eu o procurasse, não pôde ser encontrado.37 Considere o íntegro, observe o justo; há futuro para o homem de paz.38 Mas todos os rebeldes serão destruídos; futuro para os ímpios, nunca haverá.39 Do Senhor vem a salvação dos justos; ele é a sua fortaleza na hora da adversidade.40 O Senhor os ajuda e os livra; ele os livra dos ímpios e os salva, porque nele se refugiam.

1 Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, nor be thou envious against those who work unrighteousness.2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.3 Trust in LORD, and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on [his] faithfulness.4 Delight thyself also in LORD, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.5 Commit thy way to LORD. Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.6 And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy justice as the noon-day.7 Rest in LORD, and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Fret not thyself, [it tends] only to evil-doing.9 For evil-doers shall be cut off, but those who wait for LORD, they shall inherit the land.10 For yet a little while, and the wicked man shall not be. Yea, thou shall diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.11 But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.12 The wicked man plots against the righteous man, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.13 LORD will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill such as are upright in the way.15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.16 Better is a little that the righteous man has than the abundance of many wicked men.17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but LORD upholds the righteous.18 LORD knows the days of the perfect, and their inheritance shall be forever.19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of LORD [is] as the fat of lambs: they shall disintegrate; they shall disintegrate away into smoke.21 The wicked man borrows, and pays not again, but the righteous man deals graciously, and gives.22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land, and those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.23 A man's goings are established by LORD, and he delights in his way.24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for LORD upholds him with his hand.25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen a righteous man forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.26 All the day long he deals graciously, and lends, and his seed is blessed.27 Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell for evermore.28 For LORD loves justice, and forsakes not his sanctified. They are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever.30 The mouth of a righteous man talks of wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.31 The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.32 A wicked man watches a righteous man, and seeks to kill him.33 LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.34 Wait for LORD, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land. When sinners are cut off, thou shall see it.35 I have seen a wicked man in great power, and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.36 But I passed by, and, lo, he was not. Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for there is a [happy] end to the man of peace.38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The end of the wicked shall be cut off.39 But the salvation of the righteous is of LORD. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble,40 and LORD helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from sinners, and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.
