1 Laulu, korahilaisten psalmi. (H48:2)Suuri on Herra, ylistäkää häntä! Hän asuu omassa kaupungissaan, pyhällä vuorellaan.
2 (H48:3)Se kohoaa korkealle, se on koko maan ilo. Siion on kuin pohjoinen vuori, se on suuren kuninkaan kaupunki.
3 (H48:4)Jumala asuu sen palatseissa, hän on sen vahva turva.
4 (H48:5)Kuninkaat kokoontuivat yhteen ja hyökkäsivät Siionia vastaan.
5 (H48:6)Mutta he hämmästyivät sitä minkä näkivät, kauhistuivat ja ryntäsivät pakoon.
6 (H48:7)Pelko iski heihin, niin kuin tuska iskee synnyttäjään,
7 (H48:8)niin kuin itätuuli, kun se murskaa Tarsisin-laivat.
8 (H48:9)Mistä ennen olimme kuulleet, sen omin silmin näimme Herran Sebaotin, meidän Jumalamme, kaupungissa: Jumala pitää sen lujana ikuisesti. (sela)
9 (H48:10)Jumala, me kerromme temppelissä sinun armollisista teoistasi.
10 (H48:11)Jumala, maan ääriin saakka kiiriköön sinun nimesi, kaikukoon ylistyksesi! Sinun kätesi on hyvyyttä täynnä.
11 (H48:12)Iloitkoon Siionin vuori, riemuitkoot Juudan kaupungit, sillä sinun tuomiosi ovat oikeat.
12 (H48:13)Lähtekää, kulkekaa Siionin ympäri, laskekaa sen tornit.
13 (H48:14)Katsokaa sen muureja, tutkikaa sen palatseja, niin että voitte kertoa tuleville polville:
14 (H48:15)Suuri on Jumala! Hän on Jumalamme ajasta aikaan. Hän johdattaa meitä ainiaan.
1 [A Song; a Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.] Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the hill of his holiness.
2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, {on} the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 God is known in her palaces as a high fortress.
4 For behold, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together;
5 They saw, -so they marvelled; they were troubled, they fled in consternation:
6 Trembling took hold upon them there; anguish, as of a woman in travail.
7 With an east wind thou hast broken the ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God: God doth establish it for ever. Selah.
9 We have thought, O God, of thy loving-kindness, in the midst of thy temple.
10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: count the towers thereof;
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces: that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide until death.
