Condenação do culto insincero

1 Assim diz Jeová: *1Rs 8.27;Sl 11.4;Mt 5.34-35O céu é o meu trono, e a terra é o escabelo dos meus pés. *2Sm 7.5-7;Jr 7.4;Jo 4.20-21;At 7.48-50Que casa é essa que me haveis de edificar? E em que lugar será o meu descanso? 2 *Is 40.26A minha mão fez todas essas coisas, e assim vieram a ser todas elas, diz Jeová; mas para esse homem olharei, isto é, para aquele que é pobre e de um *Is 57.15;Sl 34.18;Mt 5.3-4;Lc 18.13-14espírito contrito e que *Is 66.5;Sl 119.120,161treme da minha palavra. 3 Quem *Is 1.10-17;58.1-5mata um boi, é como o que tira a vida a um homem; quem sacrifica um cordeiro, como o que quebra o pescoço a um cão; quem oferece uma *Is 1.13;19.21;40.20oblação, como o que oferece *Is 65.4sangue de porco; quem *Is 1.13;Lv 2.2queima incenso, como o que bendiz a um ídolo. Eles fizeram escolha dos *Is 57.17;65.2seus caminhos, e a sua alma se deleita nas suas *Is 44.9,19abominações. 4 Também eu *Is 65.7;Pv 1.31-32escolherei os seus infortúnios e *Pv 10.24trarei sobre eles o que eles temem; porque, quando chamei, *Is 65.12;Pv 1.24;Jr 7.13ninguém respondeu; quando falei, eles não ouviram, mas fizeram o que era *Is 59.7;65.12;2Rs 21.2,6;Jr 7.30mau aos meus olhos e escolheram aquilo em que eu não tinha prazer.

5 Ouvi a palavra de Jeová, os que *Is 66.2tremeis da sua palavra. Vossos irmãos que *Is 60.15;Sl 38.20vos odeiam e *Mt 5.10-12;10.22;Jo 9.34;15.18-20vos rejeitam por causa do meu nome disseram: Seja glorificado Jeová, para que vejamos o vosso gozo! *Lc 13.17Eles, porém, serão envergonhados. 6 Uma voz do tumulto, vinda da cidade, *Is 6.1,8uma voz vinda do templo, uma voz de Jeová, que *Is 59.18;65.6;Jl 3.7dá o pago aos seus inimigos.

7 Antes que ela estivesse de parto, *Is 37.3;49.17-21;54.1deu à luz; antes que lhe viessem as dores, nasceu-lhe um filho varão. 8 Quem jamais *Is 64.4ouviu tal coisa? Quem viu coisas semelhantes? Acaso, nascerá a terra num só dia? Acaso, será uma nação dada à luz de uma só vez? Pois, logo que Sião esteve de parto, deu à luz seus filhos. 9 Acaso, farei eu abrir a madre *Is 37.3e não farei nascer? — diz Jeová; acaso, eu que faço nascer fecharei a madre? — diz o teu Deus.

Jeová julgará os rebeldes

10 *Is 65.18;Dt 32.43;Rm 15.10Regozijai-vos com Jerusalém e alegrai-vos por causa dela, todos vós os que *Sl 26.8;122.6a amais; *Sl 137.6regozijai-vos com ela de alegria, todos vós os que chorais sobre ela, para que mameis e *Is 49.23;60.16;Jl 3.18vos farteis dos peitos das suas consolações, 11 para que chupeis e vos deleiteis com a abundância da sua *Is 60.1-2;62.2glória. 12 Pois assim diz Jeová: Eis que eu estenderei sobre ela a *Is 48.18;Sl 72.3,7paz, como um rio, e *Is 60.5;61.6a glória das nações, como uma torrente que trasborda, e delas chupareis; *Is 60.4nos braços, sereis levados e, sobre os joelhos, sereis acariciados. 13 Como quem recebe de sua mãe conforto, assim *Is 12.1;40.1-2;49.13;51.3;2Co 1.3-4;1Ts 2.7eu vos confortarei, e em Jerusalém sereis confortados. 14 Vós o *Is 33.20vereis, e *Zc 10.7o vosso coração se regozijará, e os *Is 58.11;Pv 3.8vossos ossos como a relva verde florescerão; conhecer-se-á *Ed 7.9;8.31a mão de Jeová a favor dos seus servos, e ele se *Is 10.5;13.5;30.30;34.2indignará contra os seus inimigos.

15 Pois eis que virá Jeová com *Is 10.17;30.27,33;31.9fogo, e os seus *Is 5.28;Sl 68.17;Hc 3.8carros serão como o torvelinho, para retribuir a sua ira com furor e a sua repreensão, com labaredas de fogo. 16 Pois, com *Is 30.30;Ez 38.22o fogo e com a sua *Is 65.12;Ez 38.21espada, entrará Jeová em juízo com toda a carne; e serão muitos *Is 22.2;34.3os que ficarão mortos por Jeová. 17 Os que se santificam e se purificam para entrarem nos *Is 1.29;65.3jardins após a deusa que está no meio, os que comem de *Is 65.4;Lv 11.7carne de porco, e da abominação, e do rato, todos eles *Is 1.28,31;Sl 37.20serão consumidos, diz Jeová.

18 Pois eu conheço as suas obras e *Is 59.7;65.2os seus pensamentos; vem o dia em que *Is 45.22-25;Jr 3.17ajuntarei todas as nações e línguas; elas comparecerão e verão a minha glória. 19 Porei nela um *Is 11.10,12;49.22;62.10sinal, e os que dentre eles escaparem, eu os enviarei às nações, a *Is 2.16;60.9Társis, Pul e *Ez 27.10Lude, cujos povos atiram com setas, a *Gn 10.2Tubal e Javã, *Is 11.11;24.15;60.9às ilhas remotas, que não ouviram a minha fama, nem viram a minha glória; eles *Is 42.12;1Cr 16.24anunciarão entre as nações a minha glória. 20 A todos os vossos irmãos, tirados dentre todas as nações, eles *Is 43.6;49.22;60.4os trarão como uma oferta para Jeová; sobre cavalos, em carros, em liteiras, sobre mulas e sobre dromedários, os trarão *Is 2.2-3;11.9;56.7;65.11,25ao meu santo monte, a Jerusalém, diz Jeová, como os filhos de Israel trazem a sua oferta num *Is 52.11vaso limpo à Casa de Jeová. 21 Deles também tomarei alguns para *Is 61.6;1Pe 2.5,9sacerdotes e para levitas, diz Jeová.

22 Pois, como diante de mim durarão *Is 65.17;Hb 12.26-27;2Pe 3.13;Ap 21.1os céus novos e a terra nova, que hei de fazer, assim durará a vossa *Is 61.8-9;65.22-23;Jo 10.27-29;1Pe 1.4-5posteridade e *Is 56.5o vosso nome. 23 Desde uma *Is 1.13-14;Ez 46.1,6lua nova até outra e desde um sábado até outro, virá toda a carne a *Is 19.21,23;27.13;49.7adorar perante mim, diz Jeová. 24 Eles sairão e verão os *Is 5.25;34.3cadáveres dos homens *Is 1.28;24.20que transgrediram contra mim. Pois o seu *Is 14.11;51.8;Mc 9.48verme não morrerá, *Is 1.31;Mt 3.12nem o seu fogo se apagará, e eles serão *Dn 12.2uma abominação para toda a carne.

1 Yahweh says:

"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.

What kind of house will you build to me?

Where will I rest?

2 For my hand has made all these things,

and so all these things came to be," says Yahweh:

"but I will look to this man,

even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit,

and who trembles at my word.

3 He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man;

he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck;

he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood;

he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol.

Yes, they have chosen their own ways,

and their soul delights in their abominations.

4 I also will choose their delusions,

and will bring their fears on them,

because when I called, no one answered;

when I spoke, they didn’t listen,

but they did that which was evil in my eyes,

and chose that in which I didn’t delight."

5 Hear Yahweh’s word,

you who tremble at his word:

"Your brothers who hate you,

who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said,

‘Let Yahweh be glorified,

that we may see your joy;’

but it is those who shall be disappointed.

6 A voice of tumult from the city,

a voice from the temple,

a voice of Yahweh that repays his enemies what they deserve.

7 "Before she travailed, she gave birth.

Before her pain came, she delivered a son.

8 Who has heard of such a thing?

Who has seen such things?

Shall a land be born in one day?

Shall a nation be born at once?

For as soon as Zion travailed,

she gave birth to her children.

9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to be delivered?" says Yahweh.

"Shall I who cause to give birth shut the womb?" says your God.

10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her.

Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her;

11 that you may nurse and be satisfied at the comforting breasts;

that you may drink deeply,

and be delighted with the abundance of her glory."

12 For Yahweh says, "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,

and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream,

and you will nurse.

You will be carried on her side,

and will be dandled on her knees.

13 As one whom his mother comforts,

so I will comfort you.

You will be comforted in Jerusalem."

14 You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice,

and your bones will flourish like the tender grass.

Yahweh’s hand will be known among his servants;

and he will have indignation against his enemies.

15 For, behold, Yahweh will come with fire,

and his chariots will be like the whirlwind;

to give his anger with fierceness,

and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For Yahweh will execute judgment by fire and by his sword on all flesh;

and those slain by Yahweh will be many.

17 "Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to go to the gardens, following one in the middle, eating pig’s meat, abominable things, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together," says Yahweh.

18 "For I know their works and their thoughts. The time comes that I will gather all nations and languages, and they will come, and will see my glory.

19 "I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far-away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations. 20 They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh’s house. 21 Of them I will also select priests and Levites," says Yahweh.

22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me," says Yahweh, "so your offspring and your name shall remain. 23 It shall happen that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come to worship before me," says Yahweh. 24 "They will go out, and look at the dead bodies of the men who have transgressed against me; for their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind."
