Aleluia. Louvai o Senhor porque ele é bom, porque a sua misericórdia é eterna. 
Quem contará os poderosos feitos do Senhor? Quem poderá apregoar os seus louvores? 
Felizes aqueles que observam os preceitos, aqueles que, em todo o tempo, fazem o que é reto. 
Lembrai-vos de mim, Senhor, pela benevolência que tendes com o vosso povo. Assisti-me com o vosso socorro, 
para que eu prove a felicidade de vossos eleitos, compartilhe do júbilo de vosso povo e me glorie com os que constituem vossa herança. 
Como nossos pais, nós também pecamos, cometemos a iniqüidade, praticamos o mal. 
Nossos pais, no Egito, não prezaram os vossos milagres, esqueceram a multidão de vossos benefícios e se revoltaram contra o Altíssimo no mar Vermelho. 
Mas ele os poupou para a honra de seu nome, para tornar patente o seu poder. 
Ameaçou o mar e ele se tornou seco, e os conduziu por entre as ondas como através de um deserto. 
Livrou-os das mãos daquele que os odiava, e os salvou do poder inimigo. 
As águas recobriram seus adversários, nenhum deles escapou. 
Então acreditaram em sua palavra, e cantaram os seus louvores. 
Depressa, porém, esqueceram suas obras, e não confiaram em seus desígnios. 
Entregaram-se à concupiscência no deserto, e tentaram a Deus na solidão. 
Ele lhes concedeu o que pediam, mas os feriu de um mal mortal. 
Em seus acampamentos invejaram Moisés e Aarão, o eleito do Senhor. 
Abriu-se a terra e tragou Datã, e sepultou os sequazes de Abiron. 
Um fogo devassou as suas tropas e as chamas consumiram os ímpios. 
Fabricaram um bezerro de ouro no sopé do Horeb, e adoraram um ídolo de ouro fundido. 
Eles trocaram a sua glória pela estátua de um touro que come feno. 
Esqueceram a Deus que os salvara, que obrara prodígios no Egito, 
maravilhas na terra de Cam, estupendos feitos no mar Vermelho. 
Já cogitava em exterminá-los se Moisés, seu eleito, não intercedesse junto dele para impedir que sua cólera os destruísse. 
Depois, eles desprezaram uma terra de delícias, desconfiados de sua palavra. 
Em suas tendas se puseram a murmurar, e desobedeceram ao Senhor. 
Então, com a mão alçada, ele jurou que havia de prostrá-los no deserto 
e dispersar sua descendência entre as nações pagãs, disseminando-os por toda a terra. 
Aderiram também ao Baal de Fegor, comeram vítimas oferecidas a deuses sem vida. 
E, provocando-o com seus crimes, uma peste irrompeu entre eles. 
Mas levantou-se Finéias para fazer justiça; cessou a peste. 
Seu zelo lhe foi imputado como mérito, de geração em geração, para sempre. 
Em seguida, irritaram a Deus nas águas de Meribá, e adveio o mal a Moisés por causa deles. 
Porque o provocaram tanto, palavras temerárias saíram-lhe dos lábios. 
Não exterminaram os povos, como o Senhor lhes havia ordenado, 
mas se misturaram com as nações pagãs e aprenderam seus costumes. 
Prestaram culto aos seus ídolos, que se tornaram um laço para eles. 
Imolaram os seus filhos e suas filhas aos demônios. 
Derramaram o sangue inocente: o sangue de seus filhos e de suas filhas, que aos ídolos de Canaã sacrificaram; seu país ficou manchado com esse sangue. 
Eles se contaminaram com homicídios, e se prostituíram com seus crimes. 
Então se inflamou contra seu povo a cólera divina, e Deus teve aversão de sua herança. 
Ele os entregou nas mãos das nações pagãs, e foram dominados pelos que os odiavam. 
Oprimiram-nos os seus inimigos, foram submetidos ao seu jugo. 
Muitas vezes ele os libertou; mas sua conduta o exasperou, de tal modo que foram abatidos por causa de suas iniqüidades. 
Entretanto, vendo a sua aflição, ouviu-lhes as orações. 
Em favor deles lembrou-se de sua aliança, e por sua misericórdia deles se apiedou. 
E fez com que encontrassem a clemência junto aos que os tinham aprisionado. 
Salvai-nos, Senhor, nosso Deus, e recolhei-nos de entre as nações, para que possamos celebrar o vosso santo nome e ter a satisfação de vos louvar. 
Bendito seja o Senhor, Deus de Israel, pelos séculos dos séculos! E que todo o povo diga: Amém! 

Praise ye Jah, give thanks to Jehovah, For good, for to the age, [is] His kindness. 
Who doth utter the mighty acts of Jehovah? Soundeth all His praise? 
O the happiness of those keeping judgment, Doing righteousness at all times. 
Remember me, O Jehovah, With the favour of Thy people, Look after me in Thy salvation. 
To look on the good of Thy chosen ones, To rejoice in the joy of Thy nation, To boast myself with Thine inheritance. 
We have sinned with our fathers, We have done perversely, we have done wickedly. 
Our fathers in Egypt, Have not considered wisely Thy wonders, They have not remembered The abundance of Thy kind acts, And provoke by the sea, at the sea of Suph. 
And He saveth them for His name`s sake, To make known His might, 
And rebuketh the sea of Suph, and it is dried up, And causeth them to go Through depths as a wilderness. 
And He saveth them from the hand Of him who is hating, And redeemeth them from the hand of the enemy. 
And waters cover their adversaries, One of them hath not been left. 
And they believe in His words, they sing His praise, 
They have hasted -- forgotten His works, They have not waited for His counsel. 
And they lust greatly in a wilderness, And try God in a desert. 
And He giveth to them their request, And sendeth leanness into their soul. 
And they are envious of Moses in the camp, Of Aaron, Jehovah`s holy one. 
Earth openeth, and swalloweth up Dathan, And covereth over the company of Abiram. 
And fire burneth among their company, A flame setteth on fire the wicked. 
They make a calf in Horeb, And bow themselves to a molten image, 
And change their Honour Into the form of an ox eating herbs. 
They have forgotten God their saviour, The doer of great things in Egypt, 
Of wonderful things in the land of Ham, Of fearful things by the sea of Suph. 
And He saith to destroy them, Unless Moses, His chosen one, Had stood in the breach before Him, To turn back His wrath from destroying. 
And they kick against the desirable land, They have not given credence to His word. 
And they murmur in their tents, They have not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah. 
And He lifteth up His hand to them, To cause them to fall in a wilderness, 
And to cause their seed to fall among nations, And to scatter them through lands. 
And they are coupled to Baal-Peor, And eat the sacrifices of the dead, 
And they provoke to anger by their actions, And a plague breaketh forth upon them, 
And Phinehas standeth, and executeth judgment, And the plague is restrained, 
And it is reckoned to him to righteousness, To all generations -- unto the age. 
And they cause wrath by the waters of Meribah, And it is evil to Moses for their sakes, 
For they have provoked his spirit, And he speaketh wrongfully with his lips. 
They have not destroyed the peoples, As Jehovah had said to them, 
And mix themselves among nations, and learn their works, 
And serve their idols, And they are to them for a snare. 
And they sacrifice their sons And their daughters to destroyers, 
And they shed innocent blood -- Blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they have sacrificed to idols of Canaan, And the land is profaned with blood. 
And they are defiled with their works, And commit whoredom in their habitual doings. 
And the anger of Jehovah Is kindled against His people, And He doth abominate His inheritance. 
And giveth them into the hand of nations, And those hating them rule over them, 
And their enemies oppress them, And they are humbled under their hand. 
Many times He doth deliver them, And they rebel in their counsel, And they are brought low in their iniquity. 
And He looketh on their distress When He heareth their cry, 
And remembereth for them His covenant, And is comforted, According to the abundance of His kindness. 
And He appointeth them for mercies Before all their captors. 
Save us, O Jehovah our God, and gather us from the nations, To give thanks to Thy holy name, To glory in Thy praise. 
Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, From the age even unto the age. And all the people said, `Amen, praise Jah!`
