1 The burden of the wilderness of the sea.
As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land. 2 A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing. 3 Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I am so dismayed that I can’t see. 4 My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me. 5 They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield! 6 For the Lord said to me, "Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees. 7 When he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with great attentiveness." 8 He cried like a lion: "Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post. 9 Behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs." He answered, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.
10 You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!" That which I have heard from Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
11 The burden of Dumah.
One calls to me out of Seir, "Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?" 12 The watchman said, "The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again."
13 The burden on Arabia.
You will lodge in the thickets in Arabia, you caravans of Dedanites. 14 They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread. 15 For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle. 16 For the Lord said to me, "Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail, 17 and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has spoken it."

He Poropititanga mō Papurōna, Ēroma, Arāpia hoki
1 Ko te poropititanga mō te koraha o te moana:
Ka rite ki ngā āwhiowhio i te tonga e pupuhi ana,
tōna haerenga mai i te koraha
i te whenua e wehingia ana.
2 He kino rawa te kitenga kua whakaaturia nei ki ahau;
kei te tinihanga te tangata tinihanga,
kei te pāhua te kaipāhua.
Whakaekea, e Erama whakapaea, e Meria mutu pū i ahau
ngā auētanga katoa o reira.
3 Nā reira kī tonu tōku hope i te mamae,
whakawiri rawa ngā mea e ngau nei i ahau,
ānō ko te whakawiringa o te wahine e whakawhānau ana;
mamae ana ahau, kore ake e rongo;
ohorere ana, kore ake e kite.
4 Kahekahe ana tōku manawa,
wehi ana i te whakamataku;
ko te ahiahi pō i hiahiatia e ahau,
puta ake ana hei mea e tūiri ai ahau.
5 Kei te whakapai rātou i te tēpu,
kua whakaritea he kaitūtei;
kei te kai rātou, kei te inu.
Whakatika, e ngā rangatira,
pania te whakangungu rākau.
6 Ko tā te Ariki kupu hoki tēnei ki ahau:
"Tīkina, whakatūria he kaitūtei,
māna e whakaatu tāna e kite ai.
7 Nā, ka kitea e ia te ope,
ngā kaieke hōiho tātaki rua,
he rōpū kāihe, he rōpū kāmera,
kia āta whakarongo mārie ia."
8 Kātahi tērā ka karanga, ānō he raiona:
"E tōku Ariki, kei runga ahau i te wāhi tūtei
e tū tonu ana i te awatea;
pau katoa anō ngā pō i ahau
e tū nei i tāku mahi tiaki.
9 Nanā, tēnei te haere mai nei he rōpū tāngata,
me ngā kaieke hōiho, he tātaki rua!
Nā, ka oho ia, ka mea,
‘Kua horo a Papurōna, kua horo;
ko ngā whakapakoko katoa anō o ōna atua,
wāwāhia iho ki te whenua.’ "
10 E tāku patunga wīti,
e te wīti o tāku patunga;
ko tāku i rongo ai ki a Ihowā o ngā mano, ki te Atua o Īharaira,
e whakaaturia nei e ahau ki a koutou.
11 Ko te poropititanga mō Rūma.
E karanga mai ana tētahi ki ahau i Heira,
"E te kaitūtei, ko te aha i te pō?
E te kaitūtei, ko te aha i te pō?"
12 Ka kī mai te kaitūtei:
"Kei te haere mai te ata rāua ko te pō.
Ki te uia e koutou, e ui;
hoki mai, haere mai."
13 Ko te poropititanga mō Arāpia.
Kei te ngahere i Arāpia he nohoanga mō koutou i te pō,
e ngā tira haere o Reranimi.
14 I kawea e rātou he wai mō te tangata e matewai ana;
i haere ngā tāngata o te whenua o Tema
ki te whakatau i ngā tāngata e rere ana, me tā rātou taro.
15 Ka rere mai hoki rātou i ngā hoari,
Ko te kupu hoki tēnei a Ihowā, a te Atua o Īharaira.
