1 For Zions sake, will I not hold my peace, And for Jerusalems sake, will I not rest,Until her righteousness, go forth as brightness, And her salvation, as a torch that is lighted.2 So shall nations see thy righteousness, And all kings, thy glory; And thou shalt be called by a new name, which, the mouth of Yahweh, will name.3 Then shalt thou becomeA crown of adorning, in the hand of Yahweh, and A royal diadem in the hand of thy God.4 Thou shalt he termed no longerForsaken Nor shall thy land be termed any longer A desolation, But, thou, shalt be called Hephzibah, And, thy land, Beulah,For Yahweh hath found delight in thee, And thy land, shall be married. \fs155 For a young man marrieth, a virgin, Thy sons marry thee! And the bridegroom rejoiceth over the brideThy God, rejoiceth over thee.6 Upon thy walls O Jerusalem, have I appointed watchmen, All the day and all the night through, let them not hold their peace,O ye that put Yahweh in mind, Do not take rest to yourselves,7 Neither give rest, unto him, Until he establish and until he set forth Jerusalem as a praise in the earth!8 Sworn hath YahwehBy his own right hand, and By his own strong arm,Surely I will give thy corn no more, as food to thine enemies, Nor shall the sons of the foreigner drink thy new wine, for which thou hast toiled;9 But they who have garnered it, shall eat it, and praise Yahweh,And they who have gathered in its clusters, shall drink it in my holy courts.10 Pass ye through pass ye through the gates, Prepare ye the way of the people,Cast ye up, cast ye up the highway, Clear it of stones, Lift ye high a standard unto the peoples.11 Lo! Yahweh, hath sent a message unto the end of the earth: Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Lo! thy Salvation, is coming,Lo! his reward, is with him, And, his recompense, before him:12 So shall men call themThe holy people The redeemed of Yahweh,And, thou, shalt be calledSought out, A city not forsaken,

1 Por amor de Sião, me não calarei e, por amor de Jerusalém, me não aquietarei, até que saia a sua justiça como um resplendor, e a sua salvação, como uma tocha acesa. 2 E as nações verão a tua justiça, e todos os reis, a tua glória; e chamar-te-ão por um nome novo, que a boca do Senhor nomeará. 3 E serás uma coroa de glória na mão do Senhor e um diadema real na mão do teu Deus. 4 Nunca mais te chamarão Desamparada, nem a tua terra se denominará jamais Assolada; mas chamar-te-ão Hefzibá; e à tua terra, Beulá, porque o Senhor se agrada de ti; e com a tua terra o Senhor se casará. 5 Porque, como o jovem se casa com a donzela, assim teus filhos se casarão contigo; e, como o noivo se alegra com a noiva, assim se alegrará contigo o teu Deus.

6 Ó Jerusalém! Sobre os teus muros pus guardas, que todo o dia e toda a noite se não calarão; ó vós que fazeis menção do Senhor, não haja silêncio em vós, 7 nem estejais em silêncio, até que confirme e até que ponha a Jerusalém por louvor na terra. 8 Jurou o Senhor pela sua mão direita e pelo braço da sua força: Nunca mais darei o teu trigo por comida aos teus inimigos, nem os estranhos beberão o teu mosto, em que trabalhaste. 9 Mas os que o ajuntarem o comerão e louvarão ao Senhor; e os que o colherem beberão nos átrios do meu santuário.

10 Passai, passai pelas portas; preparai o caminho ao povo; aplainai, aplainai a estrada, limpai-a das pedras; arvorai a bandeira aos povos. 11 Eis que o Senhor fez ouvir até às extremidades da terra: Dizei à filha de Sião: Eis que a tua salvação vem; eis que com ele vem o seu galardão, e a sua obra, diante dele. 12 E chamar-lhes-ão povo santo, os remidos do Senhor; e tu serás chamada Procurada, Cidade não desamparada.
