1 But there shall come forth a shoot from the stock of Jesse,And, a sprout from his roots, shall bear fruit; And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon him,2 The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and reverence of Yahweh;3 So will he find fragrance, in the reverence of Yahweh, And not, by the sight of his eyes, will he judge, Nor by the hearing of his ears, will he decide;4 But he will judge with righteousness! them who are poor, And decide with equity! for the oppressed of the land,And he will smite the land With the sceptre of his mouth, And with the breath of his lips, will he slay the lawless one;5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins,And faithfulness the girdle of his reins;6 And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, And, the leopard, with the kid, shall lie down,And the calf and the young lion and the fatlingtogether, With, a little child, leading them;7 And the cow, with the bear shall find pasture, Together, shall their young ones, lie down,And, the lion, like the ox, shall eat straw;8 And the sucking child shall caress over the hole of the asp, Yea over the vipers den, hath the weaned child stretched out his hand:9 They shall not hurtnor destroy, in all my holy mountain,For filled is the land with the knowledge of Yahweh, As the waters, to the sea, form a covering.10 And there shall come to be, in that day, A root of Jesse, which shall be standing as an ensign of peoples, Unto him, shall nations seek,And, his resting-place, shall be, glorious.11 And it shall come to pass in that day, That My Lord will again a second time set his hand, to possess himself of the remnant of his people,who shall be leftfrom Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Ethiopia and from Elam and from Shinar and from Hamath and from the Coastlands of the sea;12 And he will lift up a standard to the nations, And will gather the outcasts of Israel,And the dispersed of Judah, will he collect, From the four corners of the earth.13 And the envy of Ephraim shall be removed, And the vexatious doings of Judah, shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah, shall not vex Ephraim;14 But they shall fly on the wing of the Philistines in the west, Together, shall they make prey of the sons of the east,On Edom and Moab, putting forth their hand, With the sons of Ammon hearkening unto them.15 And Yahweh, will devote to destruction, the gulf of the Egyptian sea, And will brandish his hand against the River, in the full force of his spirit,And will smite it in the seven streams And cause a marching through in sandals, \fs1516 So shall there be a highway for the remnant of his people who shall be left out of Assyria,Like as it was to Israel, in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt!

1 Porque brotará um rebento do tronco de Jessé, e das suas raízes um renovo frutificará. 2 E repousará sobre ele o Espírito do Senhor, e o Espírito de sabedoria e de inteligência, e o Espírito de conselho e de fortaleza, e o Espírito de conhecimento e de temor do Senhor. 3 E deleitar-se-á no temor do Senhor e não julgará segundo a vista dos seus olhos, nem repreenderá segundo o ouvir dos seus ouvidos; 4 mas julgará com justiça os pobres, e repreenderá com equidade os mansos da terra, e ferirá a terra com a vara de sua boca, e com o sopro dos seus lábios matará o ímpio. 5 E a justiça será o cinto dos seus lombos, e a verdade, o cinto dos seus rins.

6 E morará o lobo com o cordeiro, e o leopardo com o cabrito se deitará, e o bezerro, e o filho de leão, e a nédia ovelha viverão juntos, e um menino pequeno os guiará. 7 A vaca e a ursa pastarão juntas, e seus filhos juntos se deitarão; e o leão comerá palha como o boi. 8 E brincará a criança de peito sobre a toca da áspide, e o já desmamado meterá a mão na cova do basilisco. 9 Não se fará mal nem dano algum em todo o monte da minha santidade, porque a terra se encherá do conhecimento do Senhor, como as águas cobrem o mar.

10 E acontecerá, naquele dia, que as nações perguntarão pela raiz de Jessé, posta por pendão dos povos, e o lugar do seu repouso será glorioso.

11 Porque há de acontecer, naquele dia, que o Senhor tornará a estender a mão para adquirir outra vez os resíduos do seu povo que restarem da Assíria, e do Egito, e de Patros, e da Etiópia, e de Elão, e de Sinar, e de Hamate, e das ilhas do mar. 12 E levantará um pendão entre as nações, e ajuntará os desterrados de Israel, e os dispersos de Judá congregará desde os quatro confins da terra. 13 E desterrar-se-á a inveja de Efraim, e os adversários de Judá serão desarraigados; Efraim não invejará a Judá, e Judá não oprimirá a Efraim. 14 Antes, voarão sobre os ombros dos filisteus ao Ocidente; juntos, despojarão os filhos do Oriente; em Edom e Moabe lançarão as mãos, e os filhos de Amom lhes obedecerão. 15 E o Senhor destruirá totalmente o braço de mar do Egito, e moverá a sua mão contra o rio com a força do seu vento, e, ferindo-o, dividi-lo-á em sete correntes, que qualquer atravessará com calçados. 16 E haverá caminho plano para os resíduos do seu povo que restarem da Assíria, como sucedeu a Israel no dia em que subiu da terra do Egito.
