1 In that day, will Yahweh With his swordthe hard and the great and the strong, Bring punishment Upon Leviathan, the fleeing serpent, And upon Leviathan, the crooked serpent,And will slay the monster which is in the sea.2 In that day, A Wine-Vineyard! sing ye unto her:3 IYahweh, am Watching over her, Every moment, will I water her,Lest anyone injure her, Night and day, will I watch over her.4 Fury, have I none,Oh that there were delivered to me briars and thorns, in battle! I would march in among them I would set fire to them one and all.5 Else, let one lay hold of my protection, Let him make peace with me,Peace, let him make with me.6 In coming times, shall Jacob strike root, Israel, shall blossom and bud,Then shall they fill the face of the world with fruit.7 Was it, with the smiting of his smiter, that he smote him? Or as with the slaying of his slayer, was he slain?8 By driving her awayby dismissing her, wouldest thou contend with her? He removed her by his rough wind in, a day of east wind.9 Therefore hereby, shall a propitiatorycovering be put over the iniquity of Jacob, And all, this, is the fruit of taking away his sin,When he maketh all the stones of an altar like chalk-stones that soon crumble, Sacred Stems and Sun Images, shall not arise.10 For the fortified city, is solitary, The dwelling forsaken and left as a wilderness,There, shall the calf feed, And, there, lie down And shall consume the branches thereof:11 When the cut-off boughs thereof are dry, they shall be broken to pieces, Women, coming, are kindling it! For it is not a people of understanding, For this cause, Will he that made him, not have compassion upon him, And, he that formed him, will shew him no favour.12 And it shall come to pass, in that day, That Yahweh will beat off his fruit from the stream of the River, unto the torrent-valley of Egypt,And, ye, shall be picked up, one by one O sons of Israel. \fs1513 And it shall come to pass in that day, That there shall be a blowing with a great horn, Then shall come in Such as have wandered in the land of Assyria, And such as have been outcasts in the land of Egypt,And they shall bow themselves down unto Yahweh In the holy mountain, In Jerusalem.

1 Naquele dia, o Senhor castigará com a sua dura espada, grande e forte, o leviatã, a serpente veloz, e o leviatã, a serpente tortuosa, e matará o dragão que está no mar.

2 Naquele dia, haverá uma vinha de vinho tinto; cantai-lhe. 3 Eu, o Senhor, a guardo e, a cada momento, a regarei; para que ninguém lhe faça dano, de noite e de dia a guardarei. 4 Não há indignação em mim; quem me poria sarças e espinheiros diante de mim na guerra? Eu iria contra eles e juntamente os queimaria. 5 Ou que se apodere da minha força e faça paz comigo; sim, que faça paz comigo.

6 Dias virão em que Jacó lançará raízes, e florescerá e brotará Israel, e encherão de fruto a face do mundo. 7 Porventura, feriu-o ele como feriu aos que o feriram? Ou matou-o ele assim como matou aos que por ele foram mortos? 8 Com medida contendeste com ela quando a rejeitaste; ele a tirou com o seu vento forte, no tempo do vento leste. 9 Por isso, se expiará a iniquidade de Jacó, e este será todo o fruto de se haver tirado o seu pecado; quando ele fizer a todas as pedras do altar como pedras de cal feitas em pedaços, os bosques e as imagens do sol não poderão ficar em pé. 10 Porque a cidade forte está solitária, uma habitação rejeitada e abandonada como um deserto; ali, pastarão os bezerros, e ali se deitarão, e devorarão os seus ramos. 11 Quando os seus ramos se secarem, serão quebrados; vindo as mulheres, os acenderão, porque este povo não é povo de entendimento; por isso, aquele que o fez não se compadecerá dele e aquele que o formou não lhe mostrará nenhum favor.

12 E será, naquele dia, que o Senhor padejará o seu fruto desde as correntes do rio até o rio do Egito; e vós, ó filhos de Israel, sereis colhidos um a um. 13 E será, naquele dia, que se tocará uma grande trombeta, e os que andavam perdidos pela terra da Assíria e os que foram desterrados para a terra do Egito tornarão a vir e adorarão ao Senhor no monte santo, em Jerusalém.
