1 Now, therefore, Thus, saith YahwehCreating thee, O Jacob, and Fashioning thee O Israel,Do not fear, For I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name. Mine, thou art!2 When thou passest through the waters, with thee, I am, Or, through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee,When thou walkest through fire, thou shall not be scorched, And, a flame, shall not kindle upon thee;3 For, I,Yahweh, am, Thy God, The Holy One of Israel Ready to save thee,I have given, as thy ransom, Egypt, Ethiopia and Seba, in thy stead.4 Because thou art precious in mine eyes, art honoured And, I, love thee,And will give mankind, in thy stead, Yea, peoples, for thy life,5 Do not fear for, with thee, I am,From the East, will I bring in thy seed, And, from the West, will I gather thee:6 I will say to the North Give up! And to the South Do not withhold! Bring in My sons from far, and My daughters from the end of the earth;7 Every one who is called by my Name, Whom for mine own glory, I have createdformedyea, made!8 Bring forth A blind people that have, eyes, and A deaf, that have, ears.9 All the nations, are gathered together Yea there is an assembling of peoples, Who among them, can tell this, And things in advance, can let us hear? Let them set forth their witnesses that they may get their right, Or let them hear, and say Truth!10 Ye, are my witnesses Declareth Yahweh, And my Servant, whom I have chosen,That ye may take noteand believe me, And perceive that, I, am He, Before me, was not formed a GOD, Nor after me, shall one come into being:11 II, am Yahweh,And there is none besides me ready to save:12 I, have toldand will save, and make known, That there is among you no strange one; And, ye, are my witnesses, Declareth Yahweh That, I, am GOD.13 Even from To-day, I, am He, And none, out of my hand, can deliver,I work and who reverseth?14 Thus saith Yahweh, Your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel,For your sakes, have I sent into Babylon, And will bring down as fugitives, all of them,Even the Chaldeans, in the ships which cause them loud outcry.15 IYahweh, am Your Holy One,The Creator of Israel, Your King.16 Thus, saith Yahweh,Who setteth in the sea, a way,And in the mighty waters, a path;17 Who bringeth forth Chariot and horse, Force and strength, Together, shall they he down They shall not arise, They are extinguished Like a wick, are they quenched!18 Do not keep in mind former things,And things of old, do not consider:19 Behold me! doing a new thing, Now, shall it spring forth, Will ye not take note thereof? Surely I will set In the desert, a way, In a desolate land, rivers:20 The wild beast of the field shall honour me, Jackals, and ostriches, Because I have givenIn the desert, waters, Rivers in, desolate land, To give drink unto my people, my chosen:21 A people which I have fashioned for myself, My praise, shall they record.22 Yet not upon me, hast thou called, O Jacob,For thou hast been wearied of me O Israel:23 Thou hast not brought in to me small cattle as thine ascending-offerings, Nor, with thy sacrifices, hast thou honoured me,I have not oppressed thee with meal-offerings, Nor have I wearied thee with frankincense;24 Thou hast not bought for me with silver, fragrant calamus, Nor with the fat of thy sacrifices, hast thou sated me,Thou hast done nothing but oppress me with thy sins, Thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.25 II, am he that is ready, To wipe out thy transgressions for mine own sake,And, thy sins, not remember.26 Put me in mind, Let us enter into judgment at once,Recount, thou, that thou mayest be justified:27 Thy chief father, hath sinned, And thine interpreters, have transgressed against me;28 So then I must needs profane the rulers of the holy place,And deliver Jacob to be devoted to destruction, and Israel, unto reviling!

1 Mas, agora, assim diz o Senhor que te criou, ó Jacó, e que te formou, ó Israel: Não temas, porque eu te remi; chamei-te pelo teu nome; tu és meu. 2 Quando passares pelas águas, estarei contigo, e, quando pelos rios, eles não te submergirão; quando passares pelo fogo, não te queimarás, nem a chama arderá em ti. 3 Porque eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, o Santo de Israel, o teu Salvador; dei o Egito por teu resgate, a Etiópia e Sebá, por ti. 4 Enquanto foste precioso aos meus olhos, também foste glorificado, e eu te amei, pelo que dei os homens por ti, e os povos, pela tua alma. 5 Não temas, pois, porque estou contigo; trarei a tua semente desde o Oriente e te ajuntarei desde o Ocidente. 6 Direi ao Norte: Dá; e ao Sul: Não retenhas; trazei meus filhos de longe e minhas filhas das extremidades da terra, 7 a todos os que são chamados pelo meu nome, e os que criei para minha glória; eu os formei, sim, eu os fiz.

8 Trazei o povo cego, que tem olhos; e os surdos, que têm ouvidos. 9 Todas as nações se congreguem, e os povos se reúnam; quem dentre eles pode anunciar isto e fazer-nos ouvir as coisas antigas? Apresentem as suas testemunhas, para que se justifiquem, e para que se ouça, e para que se diga: Verdade é. 10 Vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor, e o meu servo, a quem escolhi; para que o saibas, e me creiais, e entendais que eu sou o mesmo, e que antes de mim deus nenhum se formou, e depois de mim nenhum haverá. 11 Eu, eu sou o Senhor, e fora de mim não há Salvador. 12 Eu anunciei, e eu salvei, e eu o fiz ouvir, e deus estranho não houve entre vós, pois vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor; eu sou Deus. 13 Ainda antes que houvesse dia, eu sou; e ninguém há que possa fazer escapar das minhas mãos; operando eu, quem impedirá?

14 Assim diz o Senhor, teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Por amor de vós, enviei inimigos contra a Babilônia e a todos farei descer como fugitivos, isto é, os caldeus, nos navios com que se vangloriavam. 15 Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Santo, o Criador de Israel, vosso Rei. 16 Assim diz o Senhor, o que preparou no mar um caminho e nas águas impetuosas, uma vereda; 17 o que trouxe o carro e o cavalo, o exército e a força; eles juntamente se deitaram e nunca se levantarão; estão extintos e como um pavio, se apagaram. 18 Não vos lembreis das coisas passadas, nem considereis as antigas. 19 Eis que farei uma coisa nova, e, agora, sairá à luz; porventura, não a sabereis? Eis que porei um caminho no deserto e rios, no ermo. 20 Os animais do campo me servirão, os dragões e os filhos do avestruz; porque porei águas no deserto e rios, no ermo, para dar de beber ao meu povo, ao meu eleito. 21 Esse povo que formei para mim, para que me desse louvor.

22 Contudo, tu não me invocaste a mim, ó Jacó, mas te cansaste de mim, ó Israel. 23 Não me trouxeste o gado miúdo dos teus holocaustos, nem me honraste com os teus sacrifícios; não te fiz servir com ofertas, nem te fatiguei com incenso. 24 Não me compraste por dinheiro cana aromática, nem com a gordura dos teus sacrifícios me encheste, mas me deste trabalho com os teus pecados e me cansaste com as tuas maldades. 25 Eu, eu mesmo, sou o que apaga as tuas transgressões por amor de mim e dos teus pecados me não lembro. 26 Procura lembrar-me; entremos em juízo juntamente; apresenta as tuas razões, para que te possa justificar. 27 Teu primeiro pai pecou, e os teus intérpretes prevaricaram contra mim. 28 Pelo que profanarei os maiorais do santuário e farei de Jacó um anátema e de Israel, um opróbrio.
