1 Give ye thanks to Yahweh, Call upon his Name, Make known, among the peoples, his doings;2 Sing ye to him, Make ye music to him, Speak ye of all his wonders.3 Make your boast in his holy Name, Joyful be the heart of them who are seeking Yahweh.4 Search out Yahweh and his strength, Seek diligently his face at all times.5 Remember his wonders which he hath done, His portents, and the just decisions of his mouth.6 O ye Seed of Abrahamhis servants, Sons of Jacobhis chosen ones:7 Yahweh himself, is our God, Through all the land, are his just decision.8 He hath remembered, unto times age-abiding, his covenant, The word he commanded, to a thousand generations;9 Which he solemnised with Abraham, and his oath, to Isaac;10 And confirmed if unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel, as a covenant age-abiding;11 Saying, To thee, will I give the land of Canaan, As your inherited portion;12 While as yet they were men easily counted,A very few, and sojourners therein;13 And they wandered from nation to nation, From a kingdom, to another people.14 He suffered no son of earth to oppress them, And reprovedfor their sakes kings!15 Ye may not touch mine Anointed ones, And, to my Prophets, may ye do no wrong.16 Then called he a famine over the and, All the staff of bread, he brake;17 He sent before them a man, For a slave, was he sold Joseph;18 They forced, into a fetter, his foot, Into the iron, entered his soul;19 Until the time when his word came to pass, Speech of Yahweh, proved him;20 The king sent, and set him free, One having dominion over peoples, yet loosed he his bonds;21 He appointed him lord to his household, And one having dominion over all he possessed;22 That he might bind his rulers as he pleased, And, his elders, he might embue with wisdom.23 So Israel came into Egypt, And, Jacob, sojourned in the land of Ham;24 And he made his people exceeding fruitful,And caused them to become stronger than their adversaries.25 He let them turn their heartTo hate his people, To deal treacherously with his servants;26 He sent Moses his servant, Aaron, whom he had chosen.27 He set among them his threatening signs, And his wonders, in the land of Ham;28 He sent darkness, and made it dark, But they rebelled against his words;29 He turned their waters into blood, And so caused their fish to die;30 Their land swarmed with frogs, In the chambers of their kings!31 He spake, and there came in the gad-fly, Gnats, in all their bounds;32 He made their showershail, A fire flaming throughout their land;33 And he smote their vines, and their fig-trees, And brake in pieces the trees of their bounds;34 He spakethen came the swarming locust,The devouring locust, and that without number;35 And devoured all the herbage in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground.36 Then smote he every firstborn in their land, The beginning of all their strength;37 Thus brought he them forth, with silver and gold, Nor was there, throughout his tribes, one that faltered;38 Egypt rejoiced when they went out, For the dread of them had fallen upon them.39 He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire, to give light by night,40 They asked, and he brought in the quail,And, with the bread of the heavens, he satisfied them;41 He opened the rock, and there gushed forth waters, They flowed along, through parched places, as a river;42 For he remembered his holy word, With Abraham his servant.43 Thus brought he forth his people with gladness,With shouts of triumph, his chosen ones;44 And gave them, the lands of the nations, And, of the toil of the peoples, took they possession:45 In order that they might observe his statutes, And, over his laws, might keep watch, Praise ye Yah.

1 Louvai ao Senhor e invocai o seu nome; fazei conhecidas as suas obras entre os povos. 2 Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos; falai de todas as suas maravilhas. 3 Gloriai-vos no seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração daqueles que buscam ao Senhor. 4 Buscai ao Senhor e a sua força; buscai a sua face continuamente. 5 Lembrai-vos das maravilhas que fez, dos seus prodígios e dos juízos da sua boca, 6 vós, descendência de Abraão, seu servo, vós, filhos de Jacó, seus escolhidos.

7 Ele é o Senhor, nosso Deus; os seus juízos estão em toda a terra. 8 Lembra-se perpetuamente do seu concerto, da palavra que mandou, até milhares de gerações; 9 do concerto que fez com Abraão e do seu juramento a Isaque, 10 o qual ele confirmou a Jacó por estatuto e a Israel por concerto eterno, 11 dizendo: A ti darei a terra de Canaã por limite da vossa herança.

12 Quando eram ainda poucos homens, sim, muito poucos, e estrangeiros nela; 13 quando andavam de nação em nação e de um reino para outro povo, 14 não permitiu a ninguém que os oprimisse, e por amor deles repreendeu reis, dizendo: 15 Não toqueis nos meus ungidos e não maltrateis os meus profetas.

16 Chamou a fome sobre a terra; fez mirrar toda a planta do pão. 17 Mandou adiante deles um varão, que foi vendido por escravo: José, 18 cujos pés apertaram com grilhões e a quem puseram em ferros, 19 até ao tempo em que chegou a sua palavra; a palavra do Senhor o provou. 20 Mandou o rei e o fez soltar; o dominador dos povos o soltou. 21 Fê-lo senhor da sua casa e governador de toda a sua fazenda 22 para, a seu gosto, sujeitar os seus príncipes e instruir os seus anciãos.

23 Então, Israel entrou no Egito, e Jacó peregrinou na terra de Cam. 24 E ele multiplicou sobremodo o seu povo e o fez mais poderoso do que os seus inimigos. 25 Mudou o coração deles para que aborrecessem o seu povo, para que tratassem astutamente aos seus servos.

26 Enviou Moisés, seu servo, e Arão, a quem escolhera. 27 Fizeram entre eles os seus sinais e prodígios na terra de Cam. 28 Mandou às trevas que a escurecessem; e elas não foram rebeldes à sua palavra. 29 Converteu as suas águas em sangue e assim fez morrer os peixes. 30 A sua terra produziu rãs em abundância, até nas câmaras dos seus reis. 31 Falou ele, e vieram enxames de moscas e piolhos em todo o seu território. 32 Converteu as suas chuvas em saraiva e fogo abrasador, na sua terra. 33 Feriu as suas vinhas e os seus figueirais e quebrou as árvores dos seus termos. 34 Falou ele, e vieram gafanhotos e pulgão em quantidade inumerável, 35 e comeram toda a erva da sua terra, e devoraram o fruto dos seus campos. 36 Feriu também a todos os primogênitos da sua terra, as primícias de todas as suas forças.

37 Mas, a eles, os fez sair com prata e ouro, e entre as suas tribos não houve um só enfermo. 38 O Egito alegrou-se quando eles saíram, porque o seu temor caíra sobre eles. 39 Estendeu uma nuvem por coberta e um fogo, para os alumiar de noite. 40 Oraram, e ele fez vir codornizes e saciou-os com pão do céu. 41 Abriu a penha, e dela brotaram águas, que correram pelos lugares secos, como um rio. 42 Porque se lembrou da sua santa palavra e de Abraão, seu servo. 43 E tirou dali o seu povo com alegria e, os seus escolhidos, com regozijo. 44 E deu-lhes as terras das nações, e herdaram o trabalho dos povos, 45 para que guardassem os seus preceitos e observassem as suas leis.
