1 Hear, O Yahweh, the right, Attend to my loud cry, Give ear unto my prayer, on lips that would not deceive:2 From before thee, let my sentence come forth, Thine eyes, behold with equity.3 Thou hast tested my heart, hast made inspection by night, hast refined me until thou couldst find nothing, Had I devised evil, my mouth should not have transgressed:4 As for the workings of men, By the word of thy lips, have, I, taken heed of the paths of the violent one.5 Thou hast held fast my goings on to thy ways, My footsteps have not been shaken:6 I, have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O GOD,Incline thine ear unto me, Hear thou my speech:7 Let thy lovingkindness be distinguished, thou Saviour of such as seek refuge from them who lift themselves up against thy right hand.8 Guard me, as the pupil of the eye,Under the shadow of thy wings, wilt thou hide me:9 From the face of lawless ones who have treated me with violence, the foes of my soul, who come round against me:10 Their own fat , have they shut up,With their mouth, have they spoken proudly.11 As for our own goings, now, have they surrounded us,Their eyes, they fix, bending to the earth:12 His likeness, is as a lion, that longeth to rend, and as a young lion, lurking in secret places.13 Rise, Yahweh! Confront his face, Bring him down, Deliver my soul from the lawless one thy sword:14 From men thy hand, O Yahweh, From the men of this age, whose portion, is among the living, and, with thy treasure, thou fillest their bosom,They must be satisfied with sons, And must leave their abundance to their children:15 I, in righteousness, shall behold thy face, Shall be satisfied when awakened by a vision of thee.

1 Ouve, Senhor, a justiça e atende ao meu clamor; dá ouvidos à minha oração, que não é feita com lábios enganosos. 2 Saia a minha sentença de diante do teu rosto; atendam os teus olhos à razão.

3 Provaste o meu coração; visitaste-me de noite; examinaste-me e nada achaste; o que pensei, a minha boca não transgredirá. 4 Quanto ao trato dos homens, pela palavra dos teus lábios me guardei das veredas do destruidor. 5 Dirige os meus passos nos teus caminhos, para que as minhas pegadas não vacilem.

6 Eu te invoquei, ó Deus, pois me queres ouvir; inclina para mim os teus ouvidos e escuta as minhas palavras. 7 Faze maravilhosas as tuas beneficências, tu que livras aqueles que em ti confiam dos que se levantam contra a tua destra. 8 Guarda-me como à menina do olho, esconde-me à sombra das tuas asas, 9 dos ímpios que me oprimem, dos meus inimigos mortais que me andam cercando.

10 Na sua gordura se encerram e com a boca falam soberbamente. 11 Andam-nos agora espiando os nossos passos; e fixam os seus olhos em nós para nos derribarem por terra; 12 parecem-se com o leão que deseja arrebatar a sua presa e com o leãozinho que se põe em esconderijos.

13 Levanta-te, Senhor! Detém-no, derriba-o, livra a minha alma do ímpio, pela tua espada; 14 dos homens, com a tua mão, Senhor, dos homens do mundo, cuja porção está nesta vida e cujo ventre enches do teu tesouro oculto; seus filhos estão fartos, e estes dão os seus sobejos às suas crianças.

15 Quanto a mim, contemplarei a tua face na justiça; eu me satisfarei da tua semelhança quando acordar.
