1 Remember, O Yahweh, unto David, all his humiliations!2 What he Sware to Yahweh,Vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:3 Surely I will not enter the home of my own house, nor ascend my curtained couch;4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor, to mine eye-lashes, slumber:5 Until I find a place for Yahweh, habitations for the Mighty One of Jacob.6 Lo! we heard of it at Ephrathah, we found it in the fields of the wood.7 We would enter his habitations, we would bow down at his footstool.8 Arise! O Yahweh, unto thy place of rest, Thou, and the ark of thy strength.9 Thy priests, let them be clothed with righteousness, Thy men of lovingkindness, let them shout for joy!10 For the sake of David thy servant, do not turn away the face of thine Anointed One.11 Yahweh hath sworn unto David, in faithfulness, will he not turn from it,Of the fruit of thy body, will I seat on thy throne.12 If thy sons keep my covenant, and my testimony which I will teach them, even their sons, unto futurity, shall sit on thy throne.13 For Yahweh hath chosen Zion,He hath desired it as a dwelling for himself:14 This, is my place of rest unto futurity, Here, will I dwell, for I have desired it;15 Her provision, will I abundantly bless, Her needy ones, will I satisfy with bread;16 And, her priests, will I clothe with salvation, and, her men of lovingkindness, shall, shout aloud, for joy;17 There, will I cause to bud a horn to David, I have prepared a lamp for mine Anointed One;18 His enemies, will I clothe with shame, but, upon himself, shall his crown be resplendent.

1 Lembra-te, Senhor, de Davi e de todas as suas aflições. 2 Como jurou ao Senhor e fez votos ao Poderoso de Jacó, dizendo: 3 Certamente, que não entrarei na tenda em que habito, nem subirei ao leito em que durmo; 4 não darei sono aos meus olhos, nem repouso às minhas pálpebras, 5 enquanto não achar lugar para o Senhor, uma morada para o Poderoso de Jacó.

6 Eis que ouvimos falar da arca em Efrata e a achamos no campo do bosque. 7 Entraremos nos seus tabernáculos; prostrar-nos-emos ante o escabelo de seus pés.

8 Levanta-te, Senhor, no teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua força. 9 Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça, e alegrem-se os teus santos. 10 Por amor de Davi, teu servo, não faças virar o rosto do teu ungido.

11 O Senhor jurou a Davi com verdade e não se desviará dela: Do fruto do teu ventre porei sobre o teu trono. 12 Se os teus filhos guardarem o meu concerto e os meus testemunhos, que eu lhes hei de ensinar, também os seus filhos se assentarão perpetuamente no teu trono.

13 Porque o Senhor elegeu a Sião; desejou-a para sua habitação, dizendo: 14 Este é o meu repouso para sempre; aqui habitarei, pois o desejei. 15 Abençoarei abundantemente o seu mantimento; fartarei de pão os seus necessitados. 16 Vestirei de salvação os seus sacerdotes, e os seus santos rejubilarão. 17 Ali farei brotar a força de Davi; preparei uma lâmpada para o meu ungido. 18 Vestirei os seus inimigos de confusão; mas sobre ele florescerá a sua coroa.
