1 O Yahweh, do not, in thine anger, correct me, nor, in thy wrath, chastise me;2 For, thine arrows, have sunk down into me, and thy hand, presseth heavily upon me.3 There is no soundness in my flesh, By reason of thine indignation, There is no peace in my bones, By reason of my sin;4 For, mine iniquities, have passed over my head, Like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me:5 My wounds are of bad odourthey have festered, by reason of my folly:6 I am bent, I am bowed down very low. All the day, have I gloomily walked;7 For, my loins, are filled with inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh:8 I am benumbed and crushed exceedingly,I have cried aloud because of the groaning of my heart.9 O My Lord! before thee, is all my longing, and, my sighing, from thee, hath not been hid:10 My heart, fluttereth, my strength hath forsaken me, and, as for the light of mine eyes, even they, are not with me:11 My lovers, and my friends, from before my stroke, stand aloof,and, my near ones, far away, do stand:12 Yea they who are seeking my life, have laid snares, and they who are asking my harm, have threatened engulfing ruin, And, deceitful thingsall day long, do they mutter.13 But, I, as one deaf, will not hear,and as one dumb, who will not open his mouth:14 Thus have I become as a man who cannot hear, in whose mouth are no arguments:15 Because, for thee, O Yahweh, have I waited, Thou, wilt answer, O Adonay, my God!16 For I said, Lest they rejoice over me! When my feet were tottering, against me, have they magnified themselves:17 For, I, to halt, am ready, and, my pain, is before me continually;18 For, mine iniquity, will I declare, I shall be anxious because of my sin;19 And, my foes, are alivehave become strong,and multiplied are they who hate me for false cause:20 Even they who are repaying evil for good, accuse me because I pursue the good.21 Do not forsake me, O Yahweh, My God! be not far from me:22 Make haste to help me, My Lord, my deliverance!

1 Ó Senhor, não me repreendas na tua ira, nem me castigues no teu furor. 2 Porque as tuas flechas se cravaram em mim, e a tua mão sobre mim desceu. 3 Não há coisa sã na minha carne, por causa da tua cólera; nem há paz em meus ossos, por causa do meu pecado. 4 Pois já as minhas iniquidades ultrapassam a minha cabeça; como carga pesada são demais para as minhas forças.

5 As minhas chagas cheiram mal e estão corruptas, por causa da minha loucura. 6 Estou encurvado, estou muito abatido, ando lamentando todo o dia. 7 Porque os meus lombos estão cheios de ardor, e não há coisa sã na minha carne. 8 Estou fraco e mui quebrantado; tenho rugido por causa do desassossego do meu coração.

9 Senhor, diante de ti está todo o meu desejo, e o meu gemido não te é oculto. 10 O meu coração dá voltas, a minha força me falta; quanto à luz dos meus olhos, até essa me deixou. 11 Os meus amigos e os meus propínquos afastam-se da minha chaga; e os meus parentes se põem em distância. 12 Também os que buscam a minha vida me armam laços, e os que procuram o meu mal dizem coisas que danificam e imaginam astúcias todo o dia.

13 Mas eu, como surdo, não ouvia e, como mudo, não abri a boca. 14 Assim eu sou como homem que não ouve, e em cuja boca não há reprovação. 15 Porque em ti, Senhor, espero; tu, Senhor, meu Deus, me ouvirás. 16 Porque dizia eu: Ouve-me, para que se não alegrem de mim; quando escorrega o meu pé, eles se engrandecem contra mim.

17 Porque estou prestes a coxear; a minha dor está constantemente perante mim. 18 Porque eu confessarei a minha iniquidade; afligir-me-ei por causa do meu pecado. 19 Mas os meus inimigos estão vivos e são fortes, e os que sem causa me odeiam se engrandecem. 20 Os que dão mal pelo bem são meus adversários, porque eu sigo o que é bom.

21 Não me desampares, Senhor; meu Deus, não te alongues de mim. 22 Apressa-te em meu auxílio, Senhor, minha salvação.
