1 O God, Do not keep quiet, Do not hold thy peace, Neither be thou still, O GOD!2 For lo! thine enemies, are tumultuous, And, they who hate thee, have lifted up the head;3 Against thy people, they craftily devise a secret plot, And conspire against thy treasured ones.4 They have saidCome, and let us wipe them out from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.5 For they have taken counsel with one heart, Against theea covenant, would they solemnize6 The tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagarenes;7 Gebal and Ammon, and Amalek, The Philistines, with the dwellers in Tyre;8 Even Assyria hath joined herself with them, They have become an arm to the sons of Lot. Selah.9 Make them like Midian, like Sisera, like Jabin, by the torrent of Kishon;10 They perished at En-dor, They become manure for the soil!11 Make themtheir nobleslike Oreb and like Zeeb, And, like Zebah and like Zalmunna, all their princes:12 Who saidLet us take a possession foe ourselves, The pastures of God!13 O my God, make them, As whirling , As chaff before a wind;14 As a fire burneth a forest,And as a flame setteth mountains ablaze,15 So, wilt thou pursue them with thy tempest,And, with thy storm-wind, wilt terrify them:16 Fill thou their faces with dishonour, That men may seek thy Name, O Yahweh;17 Let them turn pale, and be terrified to futurity, Yea let them blush, and perish:18 That men may know that, thou, Whose Name alone is Yahweh, Art Most High over all the earth.

1 Ó Deus, não estejas em silêncio! Não cerres os ouvidos nem fiques impassível, ó Deus! 2 Porque eis que teus inimigos se alvoroçam, e os que te aborrecem levantaram a cabeça. 3 Astutamente formam conselho contra o teu povo e conspiram contra os teus protegidos. 4 Disseram: Vinde, e desarraiguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem haja mais memória do nome de Israel. 5 Porque à uma se conluiaram; aliaram-se contra ti: 6 As tendas de Edom, dos ismaelitas, de Moabe, dos agarenos, 7 de Gebal, de Amom, de Amaleque e a Filístia com os moradores de Tiro. 8 Também a Assíria se ligou a eles; foram eles o braço dos filhos de Ló. 9 Faze-lhes como fizeste a Midiã, como a Sísera, como a Jabim na ribeira de Quisom, 10 os quais foram destruídos em En-Dor; vieram a servir de estrume para a terra. 11 Faze aos seus nobres como a Orebe, e como a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes como a Zeba e como a Zalmuna, 12 que disseram: Tomemos para nós, em possessão hereditária, as famosas habitações de Deus.

13 Deus meu, faze-os como que impelidos por um tufão, como a palha diante do vento. 14 Como o fogo que queima um bosque, e como a chama que incendeia as brenhas, 15 assim persegue-os com a tua tempestade e assombra-os com o teu torvelinho. 16 Encham-se de vergonha as suas faces, para que busquem o teu nome, Senhor. 17 Confundam-se e assombrem-se perpetuamente; envergonhem-se e pereçam. 18 Para que saibam que tu, a quem só pertence o nome de Jeová, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
