1 Disse o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Têm-se corrompido, e cometido abominável iniquidade; não há ninguém que faça o bem.2 Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.3 Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não, nem sequer um.4 Acaso não têm conhecimento os que praticam a iniquidade, os quais comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? Eles não invocaram a Deus.5 Ali se acharam em grande temor, onde não havia temor, pois Deus espalhou os ossos daquele que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.6 Oh! Se já de Sião viesse a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.

1 [To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David.] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.2 God looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.3 Every one of them is gone back, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people {as} they eat bread? they call not upon God.5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put {them} to shame, for God hath despised them.6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.
