1 A Song. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.

2 \48:1\Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, in the town of our God, in his holy mountain.

3 \48:2\Beautiful in its high position, the joy of all the earth, is the mountain of Zion, the mountain of God, the town of the great King.

4 \48:3\In its buildings God is seen to be a high tower.

5 \48:4\For see! the kings came together by agreement, they were joined together.

6 \48:5\They saw it, and so were full of wonder; they were troubled, and went quickly away in fear.

7 \48:6\Shaking came on them and pain, as on a woman in childbirth.

8 \48:7\By you the ships of Tarshish are broken as by an east wind.

9 \48:8\As it came to our ears so have we seen it, in the town of the Lord of armies, in the town of our God; God will keep it fixed for ever. (Selah.)

10 \48:9\Our thoughts were of your mercy, O God, while we were in your Temple.

11 \48:10\As your name is, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth; your right hand is full of righteousness.

12 \48:11\Let there be joy in the mountain of Zion, and let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your wise decisions.

13 \48:12\Make your way about Zion, and go round it, numbering its towers.

14 \48:13\Take note of its strong walls, looking well at its fair buildings; so that you may give word of it to the generation which comes after.

15 \48:14\Because this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide.

1 Ein Psalmlied der Kinder Korah.

2 Groß ist der HErr und hoch berühmt in der Stadt unsers Gottes, auf seinem heiligen Berge.

3 Der Berg Zion ist wie ein schön Zweiglein, des sich das ganze Land tröstet; an der Seite gegen Mitternacht liegt die Stadt des großen Königs.

4 GOtt ist in ihren Palästen bekannt, daß er der Schutz sei.

5 Denn siehe, Könige sind versammelt und miteinander vorübergezogen.

6 Sie haben sich verwundert, da sie solches sahen; sie haben sich entsetzt und sind gestürzt.

7 Zittern ist sie daselbst angekommen, Angst wie eine Gebärerin.

8 Du zerbrichst Schiffe im Meer durch den Ostwind.

9 Wie wir gehöret haben, so sehen wir‘s an der Stadt des HErrn Zebaoth, an der Stadt unsers Gottes; GOtt erhält dieselbige ewiglich. Sela

10 GOtt, wir warten deiner Güte in deinem Tempel.

11 GOtt, wie dein Name, so ist auch dein Ruhm, bis an der Welt Ende; deine Rechte ist voll Gerechtigkeit.

12 Es freue sich der Berg Zion, und die Töchter Judas seien fröhlich um deiner Rechte willen.

13 Macht euch um Zion und umfahet sie; zählet ihre Türme!

14 Leget Fleiß an ihre Mauern und erhöhet ihre Paläste, auf daß man davon verkündige bei den Nachkommen,

15 daß dieser GOtt sei unser GOtt immer und ewiglich. Er führet uns wie die Jugend.
