1 Per il Capo de’ Musici. Per strumenti a corda. Salmo di Asaf. Canto. Iddio è conosciuto in Giuda; il suo nome è grande in sraele.

2 Il suo tabernacolo e in Salem, e la sua dimora in Sion.

3 Quivi ha spezzato le saette dell’arco, lo scudo, la spada e gli arnesi di guerra. Sela.

4 Tremendo sei tu, o Potente, quando ritorni dalle montagne di preda.

5 Gli animosi sono stati spogliati, han dormito il loro ultimo sonno, e tutti gli uomini prodi sono stati ridotti all’impotenza.

6 Alla tua minaccia, o Dio di Giacobbe, carri e cavalli sono stati presi da torpore.

7 Tu, tu sei tremendo; e chi può reggere davanti a te quando t’adiri?

8 Dal cielo facesti udir la tua sentenza; la terra temette e tacque,

9 quando Iddio si levò per far giudicio, per salvare tutti gl’infelici della terra. Sela.

10 Certo, il furore degli uomini ridonderà alla tua lode; ti cingerai degli ultimi avanzi dei loro furori.

11 Fate voti all’Eterno, all’Iddio vostro, e adempiteli; tutti quelli che gli stanno attorno portin doni al remendo.

12 Egli recide lo spirito dei principi, egli è tremendo ai re della terra.

2 And His tabernacle is in Salem, And His habitation in Zion.

3 There he hath shivered arrows of a bow, Shield, and sword, and battle. Selah.

4 Bright [art] Thou, honourable above hills of prey.

5 Spoiled themselves have the mighty of heart, They have slept their sleep, And none of the men of might found their hands.

6 From Thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse have been fast asleep.

7 Thou, fearful [art] Thou, And who doth stand before Thee, Since Thou hast been angry!

8 From heaven Thou hast sounded judgment, Earth hath feared, and hath been still,

9 In the rising of God to judgment, To save all the humble of earth. Selah.

10 For the fierceness of man praiseth Thee, The remnant of fierceness Thou girdest on.

11 Vow and complete to Jehovah your God, All ye surrounding him. They bring presents to the Fearful One.

12 He doth gather the spirit of leaders, Fearful to the kings of earth!
