På den dagen ska det finnas fem städer*19:18fem städerJfr Jer 44:1 för fyra egyptiska orter där hebreisktalande judar hade bosatt sig. i Egyptens land som talar Kanaans språk och svär vid Herren Sebaot. En av dem ska heta Ir-Haheres*19:18Ir-HaheresBetyder "ödeläggelsens stad". Andra handskrifter: "Ir-Hacheres", som betyder "Solens stad". I Heliopolisområdet byggdes enligt Josefus på 100-talet f Kr en mindre kopia av Jerusalems tempel (jfr vers 19).. 19 *1 Mos 28:18, 22, 2 Mos 24:4. På den tiden ska ett altare vara rest åt Herren mitt i Egyptens land och en stod åt Herren vid landets gräns. 20 *Dom 2:16, 18, 3:9, Jes 43:3, 45:15. De ska vara till tecken och vittnesbörd om Herren Sebaot i Egyptens land. För när de ropar till Herren på grund av förtryckarna ska han sända dem en frälsare och förkämpe som*19:20och förkämpe somAnnan översättning: "som ska kämpa och". Ordet för "förkämpe" (rab) kan också översättas "stor" eller "mästare" (jfr "rabbi" i nytestamentlig tid). ska befria dem. 21 *4 Mos 30:3f, 5 Mos 23:22f, Ps 68:32, Jes 45:14.Herren ska göra sig känd för egyptierna, och egyptierna ska på den tiden lära känna Herren. De ska tjäna honom med slaktoffer och matoffer och ge löften åt Herren och uppfylla dem. 22 Så ska Herren slå Egypten, slå men också hela. När de omvänder sig till Herren ska han bönhöra dem och hela dem.

23 På den dagen ska det finnas en banad väg mellan Egypten och Assyrien, och assyrierna ska komma in i Egypten och egyptierna in i Assyrien, och egyptierna ska tjäna Herren tillsammans med assyrierna. 24 På den dagen ska Israel vara den tredje vid sidan av Egypten och Assyrien, en välsignelse mitt på jorden. 25 Herren Sebaot ska välsigna dem och säga:

Välsignat är Egypten, mitt folk,

och Assyrien, mina händers verk,

och Israel, min arvedel!

23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
