1 Aleluia!

Bem-aventurado o homem que teme ao Senhor

e se compraz nos seus mandamentos.

2 A sua descendência será poderosa na terra;

será abençoada a geração dos justos.

3 Na sua casa há prosperidade e riqueza,

e a sua justiça permanece para sempre.

4 Ao justo, nasce luz nas trevas;

ele é benigno, misericordioso e justo.

5 Ditoso o homem que se compadece e empresta;

ele defenderá a sua causa em juízo;

6 não será jamais abalado;

será tido em memória eterna.

7 Não se atemoriza de más notícias;

o seu coração é firme, confiante no Senhor.

8 O seu coração, bem firmado, não teme,

até ver cumprido, nos seus adversários, o seu desejo.

9 Distribui, dá aos pobres;

a sua justiça permanece para sempre,

e o seu poder se exaltará em glória.

10 O perverso vê isso e se enraivece;

range os dentes e se consome;

o desejo dos perversos perecerá.

1 Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty on earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endures for ever.

4 To the upright there rises light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

5 A good man shows favor, and lends: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire on his enemies.

9 He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
