1 Aleluia!

Louva, ó minha alma, ao Senhor.

2 Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida;

cantarei louvores ao meu Deus, enquanto eu viver.

3 Não confieis em príncipes,

nem nos filhos dos homens, em quem não há salvação.

4 Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles tornam ao pó;

nesse mesmo dia, perecem todos os seus desígnios.

5 Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio,

cuja esperança está no Senhor, seu Deus,

6 que fez os céus e a terra,

o mar e tudo o que neles há

e mantém para sempre a sua fidelidade.

7 Que faz justiça aos oprimidos

e dá pão aos que têm fome.

O Senhor liberta os encarcerados.

8 O Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos,

o Senhor levanta os abatidos,

o Senhor ama os justos.

9 O Senhor guarda o peregrino,

ampara o órfão e a viúva,

porém transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

10 O Senhor reina para sempre;

o teu Deus, ó Sião, reina de geração em geração.

1 Praise you the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises to my God while I have any being.

3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

5 Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keeps truth for ever:

7 Which executes judgment for the oppressed: which gives food to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:

8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down: the LORD loves the righteous:

9 The LORD preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 The LORD shall reign for ever, even your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise you the LORD.
