1 But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came to the high priest 2 and asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 But as he was journeying, it came to pass that he drew near to Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven, 4 and falling on the earth he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest. 6 But rise up and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. 7 But the men who were travelling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but beholding no one. 8 And Saul rose up from the earth, and his eyes being opened he saw no one. But leading him by the hand they brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without seeing, and neither ate nor drank.

10 And there was a certain disciple in Damascus by name Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, here am I, Lord. 11 And the Lord said to him, Rise up and go into the street which is called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas one by name Saul, he is of Tarsus: for, behold, he is praying, 12 and has seen in a vision a man by name Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he should see. 13 And Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem; 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon thy name. 15 And the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is an elect vessel to me, to bear my name before both nations and kings and the sons of Israel: 16 for I will shew to him how much he must suffer for my name. 17 And Ananias went and entered into the house; and laying his hands upon him he said, Saul, brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus that appeared to thee in the way in which thou camest, that thou mightest see, and be filled with theHoly Spirit. 18 And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he saw, and rising up was baptised; 19 and, having received food, got strength. And he was with the disciples who were in Damascus certain days. 20 And straightway in the synagogues he preached Jesus that he is the Son of God. 21 And all who heard were astonished and said, Is not this he who destroyed in Jerusalem those who called on this name, and here was come for this purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests? 22 But Saul increased the more in power, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

23 Now when many days were fulfilled, the Jews consulted together to kill him. 24 But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched also the gates both day and night, that they might kill him; 25 but the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket. 26 And having arrived at Jerusalem he essayed to join himself to the disciples, and all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus. 28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem, 29 and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. And he spoke and discussed with the Hellenists; but they sought to kill him. 30 And the brethren knowing it, brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus. 31 The assemblies then throughout the whole of Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified and walking in the fear of the Lord, and were increased through the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

32 Now it came to pass that Peter, passing through all quarters, descended also to the saints who inhabited Lydda. 33 And he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name, who had been lying for eight years upon a couch, who was paralysed. 34 And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus, the Christ, heals thee: rise up, and make thy couch for thyself. And straightway he rose up. 35 And all who inhabited Lydda and the Saron saw him, who turned to the Lord.

36 And in Joppa there was a certain female disciple, by name Tabitha, which being interpreted means Dorcas. She was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days that she grew sick and died; and, having washed her, they put her in the upper room. 38 But Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, beseeching him, Thou must not delay coming to us. 39 And Peter rising up went with them, whom, when arrived, they brought up into the upper chamber; and all the widows stood by him weeping and shewing him the body-coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. 40 But Peter, putting them all out, and kneeling down, prayed. And, turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up. 41 And having given her his hand, he raised her up, and having called the saints and the widows, presented her living. 42 And it became known throughout the whole of Joppa, and many believed on the Lord. 43 And it came to pass that he remained many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.

Cap. 22:9; 26:13. care-l însoțeau au rămas încremeniți; auzeau în adevăr glasul, dar nu vedeau pe nimeni. 8 Saul s-a sculat de la pământ și, măcar că ochii îi erau deschiși, nu vedea nimic. L-au luat de mâini și l-au dus în Damasc. 9 Trei zile n-a văzut și n-a mâncat, nici n-a băut nimic. 10 În Damasc era un ucenic numit*Cap. 22:12. Anania. Domnul i-a zis într-o vedenie: „Anania!" „Iată-mă, Doamne", a răspuns el. 11 Și Domnul i-a zis: „Scoală-te, du-te pe ulița care se cheamă Dreaptă și caută în casa lui Iuda pe unul zis Saul, un om din Tars*Cap. 21:39;22:3.. Căci iată, el se roagă.12 Și a văzut în vedenie pe un om, numit Anania, intrând la el și punându-și mâinile peste el, ca să-și capete iarăși vederea."13 „Doamne", a răspuns Anania, „am auzit de la mulți despre toate*Vers. 1. relele pe care le-a făcut omul acesta sfinților Tăi în Ierusalim, 14 ba și aici are puteri din partea preoților celor mai de seamă ca să lege pe toți care*Vers. 21. Cap. 7:59;22:16.1 Cor. 1:2.2 Tim. 2:22. cheamă Numele Tău." 15 Dar Domnul i-a zis: „Du-te, căci el*Cap. 13:2;22:21;26:17.Rom. 1:1.1 Cor. 15:10.Gal. 1:15.Efes. 3:7,8.1 Tim. 2:7.2 Tim. 1:11.este un vas pe care l-am ales ca să ducă Numele Meu înaintea neamurilor*Rom. 1:5;11:13.Gal. 2:7,8., înaintea împăraților*Cap. 25:22,23;26:1.și înaintea fiilor lui Israel;16 și îi*Cap. 20:23;21:11.2 Cor. 11:23.voi arăta tot ce trebuie să sufere pentru Numele Meu."17 Anania*Cap. 22:12,13. a plecat; și, după ce a intrat în casă, a pus*Cap. 8:17. mâinile peste Saul și a zis: „Frate Saule, Domnul Isus, care ți S-a arătat pe drumul pe care veneai, m-a trimis ca să capeți vederea și să*Cap. 2:4;4:31;8:17;13:52. te umpli de Duhul Sfânt." 18 Chiar în clipa aceea, au căzut de pe ochii lui un fel de solzi, și el și-a căpătat iarăși vederea. Apoi s-a sculat și a fost botezat. 19 După ce a mâncat, a prins iarăși putere. Saul*Cap. 26:20. a rămas câteva zile cu ucenicii care erau în Damasc. 20 Și îndată a început să propovăduiască în sinagogi că*Cap. 8:37. Isus este Fiul lui Dumnezeu. 21 Toți cei ce-l ascultau rămâneau uimiți și ziceau: „Nu este el*Cap. 8:3. Vers. 1.Gal. 1:13,23. acela care făcea prăpăd în Ierusalim, printre cei ce chemau Numele acesta? Și n-a venit el aici ca să-i ducă legați înaintea preoților celor mai de seamă?" 22 Totuși Saul se întărea din ce în ce mai mult și făcea de rușine*Cap. 18:28. pe iudeii care locuiau în Damasc, dovedind că Isus este Hristosul.

23 După câtva timp, iudeii s-au*Cap. 23:12;25:3.2 Cor. 11:26. sfătuit să-l omoare, 24 și uneltirea*2 Cor. 11:32. lor a ajuns la cunoștința lui Saul. Porțile erau păzite zi și noapte, ca să-l omoare. 25 Dar, într-o noapte, ucenicii l-au luat și l-au*Ios. 2:15.1 Sam. 19:12. coborât prin zid, dându-l jos într-o coșniță. 26 Când a ajuns*Cap. 22:17.Gal. 1:17,18. în Ierusalim, Saul a căutat să se lipească de ucenici, dar toți se temeau de el, căci nu puteau să creadă că este ucenic. 27 Atunci*Cap. 4:36;13:2., Barnaba l-a luat cu el, l-a dus la apostoli și le-a istorisit cum, pe drum, Saul văzuse pe Domnul, care i-a vorbit, și cum*Vers. 20,22. în Damasc propovăduise cu îndrăzneală în Numele lui Isus. 28 De atunci se ducea*Gal. 1:18. și venea împreună cu ei în Ierusalim 29 și propovăduia cu îndrăzneală în Numele Domnului. Vorbea și se întreba și cu evreii care vorbeau grecește*Cap. 6:1;11:20., dar*Vers. 23.2 Cor. 11:26. ei căutau să-l omoare. 30 Când au aflat frații de lucrul acesta, l-au dus la Cezareea și l-au pornit la Tars.

31 Biserica*Cap. 8:1. se bucura de pace în toată Iudeea, Galileea și Samaria, se întărea sufletește și umbla în frică de Domnul și, cu ajutorul Duhului Sfânt, se înmulțea. 32 Pe când cerceta Petru pe*Cap. 8:14. toți sfinții, s-a coborât și la cei ce locuiau în Lida. 33 Acolo a găsit un om, anume Enea, care zăcea de opt ani olog în pat. 34 „Enea", i-a zis Petru, „Isus Hristos te*Cap. 3:6,16;4:10. vindecă; scoală-te și fă-ți patul." Și Enea s-a sculat îndată. 35 Toți locuitorii din Lida și din Sarona*1 Cron. 5:16. l-au văzut și s-au*Cap. 11:21. întors la Domnul.

36 În Iope, era o uceniță numită Tabita, nume care, în tălmăcire, se zice Dorca. Ea făcea o mulțime de*1 Tim. 2:10.Tit 3:8. fapte bune și milostenii. 37 În vremea aceea, s-a îmbolnăvit și a murit. După ce au scăldat-o, au pus-o într-o odaie de sus*Cap. 1:13.. 38 Fiindcă Lida este aproape de Iope, ucenicii, când au auzit că Petru este acolo, au trimis doi oameni la el să-l roage: „Nu pregeta să vii până la noi." 39 Petru s-a sculat și a plecat împreună cu ei. Când a sosit, l-au dus în odaia de sus. Toate văduvele l-au înconjurat plângând și i-au arătat hainele și cămășile pe care le făcea Dorca pe când era cu ele. 40 Petru a scos*Mat. 9:25. pe toată lumea afară, a îngenuncheat*Cap. 7:60. și s-a rugat; apoi, s-a întors spre trup și a*Marcu 5:41,42.Ioan 11:43. zis: „Tabita, scoală-te!" Ea a deschis ochii și, când a văzut pe Petru, a stat în capul oaselor. 41 El i-a dat mâna și a ridicat-o în sus. A chemat îndată pe sfinți și pe văduve și le-a pus-o înainte vie. 42 Minunea aceasta a fost cunoscută în toată cetatea Iope și*Ioan 11:45;12:11. mulți au crezut în Domnul. 43 Petru a rămas multe zile în Iope, la un tăbăcar numit Simon*Cap. 10:6..
