1 And it came to pass when mankind began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God*GodHebrew: Elohim saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and took themselves wives of all that they chose.

3 And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always plead with Man; for he indeed is flesh; but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

4 In those days were the giants on the earth, and also afterwards, when the sons of God*GodHebrew: Elohim had come in to the daughters of men, and they had borne children to them; these were the heroes, who of old were men of renown. 5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of Man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil continually.

6 And Jehovah repented that he had made Man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart. 7 And Jehovah said, I will destroy Man, whom I have created, from the earth — from man to cattle, to creeping things, and to fowl of the heavens; for I repent that I have made them.

8 But Noah found favour in the eyes of Jehovah. 9 This is the history of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect amongst his generations: Noah walked with God*GodHebrew: Elohim10 And Noah begot three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 And the earth was corrupt before God*GodHebrew: Elohim and the earth was full of violence. 12 And God*GodHebrew: Elohim looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.

13 And God*GodHebrew: Elohim said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is full of violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thyself an ark of gopher wood: with cells shalt thou make the ark; and pitch it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And thus shalt thou make it: let the length of the ark be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16 A light shalt thou make to the ark; and to a cubit high shalt thou finish it above. And the door of the ark shalt thou set in its side: with a lower, second, and third story shalt thou make it. 17 For I, behold, I bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh under the heavens in which is the breath of life: everything that is on the earth shall expire. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt go into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee: they shall be male and female. 20 Of fowl after their kind, and of the cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of each shall go in to thee, to keep them alive. 21 And take thou of all food that is eaten, and gather it to thee, that it may be for food for thee and for them.

22 And Noah did it; according to all that God*GodHebrew: Elohim had commanded him, so did he.

1 Când au început oamenii să se înmulțească*Cap. 1:28. pe fața pământului și li s-au născut fete, 2 fiii lui Dumnezeu au văzut că fetele oamenilor erau frumoase și din toate și-au luat de neveste*Deut. 7:3,4. pe acelea pe care și le-au ales. 3 Atunci, Domnul a zis: „Duhul*Gal. 5:16,17.1 Pet. 3:19,20. Meu nu va rămâne*6:3 Sau: nu se va lupta, nu va stăpâni. pururea în om, căci*Ps. 78:39. omul nu este decât carne păcătoasă; totuși*6:3 Sau: de aceea., zilele lui vor fi de o sută douăzeci de ani." 4 Uriașii erau pe pământ în vremurile acelea și chiar și după ce s-au împreunat fiii lui Dumnezeu cu fetele oamenilor și le-au născut ele copii; aceștia erau vitejii care au fost în vechime, oameni cu nume. 5 Domnul a văzut că răutatea omului era mare pe pământ și că toate întocmirile gândurilor*Cap. 8:21.Deut. 29:19.Prov. 6:18.Mat. 15:19. din inima lui erau îndreptate în fiecare zi numai spre rău. 6 I-a părut rău*Num. 23:19.1 Sam. 15:11,29.2 Sam. 24:16.Mal. 3:6.Iac. 1:17. Domnului că a făcut pe om pe pământ și S-a mâhnit*Is. 63:10.Efes. 4:30. în inima Lui. 7 Și Domnul a zis: „Am să șterg de pe fața pământului pe omul pe care l-am făcut, de la om până la vite, până la târâtoare și până la păsările cerului, căci Îmi pare rău că i-am făcut."

8 Dar Noe a căpătat*Cap. 19:19.Exod 33:12,13,16,17.Luca 1:30.Fapte 7:46. milă înaintea Domnului. 9 Iată care sunt urmașii lui Noe.

Noe*Cap. 7:1.Ezec. 14:14,20.Rom. 1:17.Evr. 11:7.2 Pet. 2:5. era un om neprihănit și fără pată între cei din vremea lui: Noe*Cap. 5:22. umbla cu Dumnezeu. 10 Noe a născut trei fii: Sem*Cap. 5:32., Ham și Iafet. 11 Pământul era stricat*Cap. 7:1;10:9;13:13.2 Cron. 34:27.Luca 1:6.Rom. 2:13;3:19. înaintea lui Dumnezeu; pământul era plin*Ezec. 8:17;28:16.Hab. 2:8,17. de silnicie. 12 Dumnezeu S-a uitat*Cap. 18:21.Ps. 14:2;33:13,14;53:2,3. spre pământ și iată că pământul era stricat, căci orice făptură își stricase calea pe pământ. 13 Atunci, Dumnezeu a zis lui Noe: „Sfârșitul*Ier. 51:13.Ezec. 7:2,3,6.Amos 8:2.1 Pet. 4:7. oricărei făpturi este hotărât înaintea Mea, fiindcă au umplut pământul de silnicie; iată, am*Vers. 17. să-i nimicesc împreună cu pământul. 14 Fă-ți o corabie din lemn de gofer (chiparos); corabia aceasta s-o împarți în cămăruțe și s-o tencuiești cu smoală pe dinăuntru și pe dinafară. 15 Iată cum s-o faci: corabia să aibă trei sute de coți în lungime, cincizeci de coți în lățime și treizeci de coți în înălțime. 16 Să faci corabiei o fereastră*6:16 Sau: acoperiș., sus, lată de un cot; ușa s-o pui în latura corabiei și să faci un rând de cămări jos, altul la mijloc și altul sus. 17 Și iată că Eu*Vers. 13. Cap. 7:4,21-23.2 Pet. 2:5. am să fac să vină un potop de ape pe pământ, ca să nimicească orice făptură de sub cer care are suflare de viață; tot ce este pe pământ va pieri. 18 Dar cu tine fac un legământ: să*Cap. 7:1,7,13.1 Pet. 3:20.2 Pet. 2:5. intri în corabie, tu și fiii tăi, nevastă-ta și nevestele fiilor tăi împreună cu tine. 19 Din tot ce trăiește, din orice făptură, să iei în corabie câte două*Cap. 7:8,9,15,16. din fiecare soi, ca să le ții vii cu tine: să fie o parte bărbătească și o parte femeiască. 20 Din păsări după soiul lor, din vite după soiul lor și din toate târâtoarele de pe pământ după soiul lor, să vină*Cap. 2:9;7:9,15. la tine înăuntru câte două din fiecare soi, ca să le ții cu viață. 21 Și tu ia-ți din toate bucatele care se mănâncă și fă-ți merinde din ele, ca să-ți slujească de hrană ție și lor." 22 Așa a și făcut Noe*Evr. 11:7.Exod 40:16.: a făcut tot*Cap. 7:5,9,16. ce-i poruncise Dumnezeu.
