1 Woe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith Jehovah. 2 Therefore thus saith Jehovah the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Israel concerning the shepherds that feed my people: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah. 3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their pastures; and they shall be fruitful and shall multiply. 4 And I will raise up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, saith Jehovah. 5 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, when I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, who shall reign as king, and act wisely, and shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell in safety; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness. 7 Therefore behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, that they shall no more say, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 8 but, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led back the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.

9 Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome; because of Jehovah, and because of the words of his holiness. 10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of execration the land mourneth. The pastures of the wilderness are dried up; for their course is evil, and their force is not right. 11 For both prophet and priest are profane: even in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah. 12 Therefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them in the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah. 13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. 14 And in the prophets of Jerusalem have I seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in falsehood, and strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none doth return from his wickedness. They are all become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. 15 Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. 16 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they lead you to vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, not out of the mouth of Jehovah. 17 They say constantly unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace. And they say unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his heart, No evil shall come upon you. 18 For who hath stood in the council of Jehovah, so that he hath perceived and heard his word? who hath hearkened to his word and listened? 19 Behold, a tempest of Jehovah, fury is gone forth, yea, a whirling storm: it shall whirl down upon the head of the wicked. 20 The anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and until he have performed the purposes of his heart: at the end of the days ye shall understand it clearly. 21 I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in my council, and had caused my people to hear my words, then would they have turned them from their evil way and from the wickedness of their doings. 23 Am I a God*GodHebrew: Elohim at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God*GodHebrew: Elohim afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places, that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill the heavens and the earth? saith Jehovah. 25 I have heard what the prophets say, who prophesy falsehood in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. 26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, and who are prophets of the deceit of their own heart? 27 who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour: as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. 28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell the dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith Jehovah. 29 Is not my word like a fire, saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? 30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He hath said. 32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith Jehovah, and that tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies and by their boasting; and I have not sent them, nor commanded them; and they profit not this people at all, saith Jehovah.

33 And when this people, or a prophet, or a priest, ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even cast you off, saith Jehovah. 34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house. 35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother: What hath Jehovah answered? and, What hath Jehovah spoken? 36 And the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more; for every man’s own word shall be his burden: for ye have perverted the words of the living God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jehovah of hosts, our God*GodHebrew: Elohim37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet: What hath Jehovah answered thee? and, What hath Jehovah spoken? 38 But since ye say, The burden of Jehovah, therefore thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say this word, The burden of Jehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Jehovah; 39 therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, far from my face, and the city that I gave to you and to your fathers. 40 And I will bring everlasting reproach upon you, and everlasting shame, that shall not be forgotten.

1 „Vai de păstorii*Cap. 10:21;22:22.Ezec. 34:2. care nimicesc și risipesc turma pășunii Mele", zice Domnul. 2 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel împotriva păstorilor care pasc pe poporul meu: „Pentru că Mi-ați risipit oile, le-ați izgonit și nu v-ați îngrijit de ele, iată*Exod 32:34. că vă voi pedepsi din pricina răutății faptelor voastre", zice Domnul. 3 „Și Eu Însumi voi strânge*Cap. 32:37.Ezec. 34:13. rămășița oilor Mele din toate țările în care le-am izgonit; le voi aduce înapoi în pășunea lor și vor crește și se vor înmulți. 4 Voi pune peste ele păstori*Cap. 3:15.Ezec. 34:23. care le vor paște; nu le va mai fi teamă, nici groază și nu va mai lipsi niciuna din ele", zice Domnul. 5 „Iată*Is. 4:2;11:1;40:10,11. Cap. 33:14-16.Dan. 9:24.Zah. 3:8;6:12.Ioan 1:45. vin zile", zice Domnul, „când voi ridica lui David o Odraslă neprihănită. El va împărăți, va lucra cu înțelepciune și va face dreptate*Ps. 72:2.Is. 9:7;32:1,18. și judecată în țară. 6 În vremea Lui, Iuda*Deut. 33:28.Zah. 14:11. va fi mântuit și Israel va avea liniște*Cap. 32:37. în locuința lui; și iată Numele*Cap. 33:16.1 Cor. 1:30. pe care i-L vor da: ‘Domnul, Neprihănirea noastră’! 7 De aceea iată vin*Cap. 16:14,15. zile", zice Domnul, „când nu se va mai zice: ‘Viu este Domnul, care a scos din țara Egiptului pe copiii lui Israel!’ 8 Ci se va zice: ‘Viu este Domnul, care a scos și a adus înapoi sămânța casei lui Israel din țara de la miazănoapte și din toate țările*Is. 43:5,6. Vers. 3. în care îi risipisem!’ Și vor locui în țara lor." 9 Asupra prorocilor.

„Inima îmi este zdrobită în mine, toate oasele*Hab. 3:16. îmi tremură; sunt ca un om beat, ca un om amețit de vin, din pricina Domnului și din pricina sfintelor Lui cuvinte. 10 Căci țara*Cap. 5:7,8;9:2. este plină de preacurvii și țara se jelește din pricina jurămintelor*Osea 4:2,3.; câmpiile*Cap. 9:10;12:4. pustiei sunt uscate. Toată alergătura lor țintește numai la rău și toată vitejia lor este pentru nelegiuire!" 11 „Prorocii*Cap. 6:13;8:10.Ţef. 3:4. și preoții sunt stricați; le-am găsit răutatea chiar și în*Cap. 7:30;11:15;32:34.Ezec. 8:11;23:39. Casa Mea", zice Domnul. 12 „De aceea, calea*Ps. 35:6.Prov. 4:19. Cap. 13:16. lor va fi lunecoasă și întunecoasă, vor fi împinși și vor cădea, căci voi aduce nenorocirea*Cap. 11:23. peste ei în anul când îi voi pedepsi", zice Domnul. 13 „În prorocii Samariei am văzut următoarea nebunie: au prorocit pe*Cap. 2:8. Baal și au rătăcit*Is. 9:16. pe poporul Meu Israel! 14 Dar în prorocii Ierusalimului am văzut lucruri grozave. Sunt preacurvari*Cap. 29:23., trăiesc în*Vers. 26. minciună, întăresc*Ezec. 13:22. mâinile celor răi, așa că niciunul nu se mai întoarce de la răutatea lui; toți sunt înaintea Mea ca Sodoma*Deut. 32:32.Is. 1:9,10. și locuitorii Ierusalimului, ca Gomora." 15 De aceea, așa vorbește Domnul oștirilor despre proroci: „Iată, îi voi hrăni cu*Cap. 8:14;9:15. pelin și le voi da să bea ape otrăvite; căci prin prorocii Ierusalimului s-a răspândit nelegiuirea în toată țara." 16 Așa vorbește Domnul oștirilor: „N-ascultați cuvintele prorocilor care vă prorocesc! Ei vă leagănă în închipuiri zadarnice; spun*Cap. 14:14. Vers. 21. vedenii ieșite din inima lor, nu ce vine din gura Domnului. 17 Ei spun celor ce Mă nesocotesc: ‘Domnul a zis: «Veți avea*Cap. 6:14;8:11.Ezec. 13:10.Zah. 10:2. pace!»’ și zic tuturor celor ce trăiesc după aplecările inimii lor: ‘Nu*Mica 3:11. vi se va întâmpla niciun rău.’ 18 Cine*Iov 15:8.1 Cor. 2:16. a fost de față la sfatul Domnului ca să vadă și să asculte cuvântul Lui? Cine a plecat urechea la cuvântul Lui și cine l-a auzit? 19 Iată că furtuna*Cap. 25:32;30:23. Domnului, urgia izbucnește, se năpustește vijelia și cade peste capul celor răi! 20 Mânia*Cap. 30:24. Domnului nu se va potoli până nu va împlini și va înfăptui planurile inimii Lui. Veți înțelege în totul lucrul acesta în cursul*Gen. 49:1. vremurilor. 21 Eu n-am trimis*Cap. 14:14;27:15;29:9. pe prorocii aceștia, și totuși ei au alergat; nu le-am vorbit, și totuși au prorocit. 22 Dacă ar fi fost*Vers. 18. de față la sfatul Meu, ar fi trebuit să spună cuvintele Mele poporului Meu și să-i întoarcă*Cap. 25:5. de la calea lor rea, de la răutatea faptelor lor! 23 Sunt Eu numai un Dumnezeu de aproape", zice Domnul, „și nu sunt Eu și un Dumnezeu de departe? 24 Poate cineva să stea într-un loc ascuns*Ps. 139:7.Amos 9:2,3. fără să-l văd Eu?", zice Domnul. „Nu umplu*1 Împ. 8:27.Ps. 139:7. Eu cerurile și pământul?", zice Domnul. 25 „Am auzit ce spun prorocii care prorocesc minciuni în Numele Meu, zicând: ‘Am avut un vis! Am visat un vis!’ 26 Până când vor prorocii aceștia să prorocească minciuni, să prorocească înșelătoriile inimii lor? 27 Cred ei oare că pot face pe poporul Meu să uite Numele Meu, prin visele pe care le istorisește fiecare din ei aproapelui lor, cum*Jud. 3:7;8:33,34. Mi-au uitat părinții lor Numele din pricina lui Baal? 28 Prorocul care a avut un vis să istorisească visul acesta și cine a auzit Cuvântul Meu să spună întocmai Cuvântul Meu! Pentru ce să amesteci paiele cu grâul?", zice Domnul. 29 „Nu este Cuvântul Meu ca un foc", zice Domnul, „și ca un ciocan care sfărâmă stânca? 30 De aceea, iată", zice Domnul, „am necaz*Deut. 18:20. Cap. 14:14,15. pe prorocii care își ascund unul altuia cuvintele Mele. 31 Iată", zice Domnul, „am necaz pe prorocii care iau cuvântul lor și-l dau drept cuvânt al Meu. 32 Iată", zice Domnul, „am necaz pe cei ce prorocesc vise neadevărate, care le istorisesc și rătăcesc pe poporul Meu cu minciunile și cu îndrăzneala*Ţef. 3:4. lor; nu i-am trimis Eu, nu Eu le-am dat poruncă, și nu sunt de niciun folos poporului acestuia", zice Domnul. 33 „Dacă poporul acesta sau un proroc, sau un preot te va întreba: ‘Care este amenințarea*Mal. 1:1. Domnului?’, să le spui care este această amenințare: ‘«Vă voi*Vers. 39. lepăda», zice Domnul.’ 34 Și pe prorocul, pe preotul sau pe acela din popor care va zice: ‘O amenințare a Domnului’ îl voi pedepsi, pe el și casa lui! 35 Așa să spuneți însă, fiecare aproapelui său, fiecare fratelui său: ‘Ce a răspuns Domnul?’ sau: ‘Ce a zis Domnul?’ 36 Dar să nu mai ziceți: ‘O amenințare a Domnului’, căci cuvântul fiecăruia va fi o amenințare pentru el, dacă veți suci astfel cuvintele Dumnezeului celui viu, cuvintele Domnului oștirilor, Dumnezeului nostru! 37 Așa să zici prorocului: ‘Ce ți-a răspuns Domnul?’ sau: ‘Ce a zis Domnul?’ 38 Dar, dacă veți mai zice: ‘O amenințare a Domnului’, atunci așa vorbește Domnul: ‘Pentru că spuneți cuvintele acestea: «O amenințare a Domnului», măcar că am trimis să vă spună să nu mai ziceți: «O amenințare a Domnului», 39 din pricina aceasta*Osea 4:6., iată, vă voi uita și vă voi lepăda*Vers. 33. pe voi și cetatea pe care v-o dădusem vouă și părinților voștri, vă voi arunca dinaintea Mea 40 și voi pune peste voi o*Cap. 20:11. veșnică ocară și o veșnică necinste, care nu se va uita.’"
