1 And Jehovah said unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, my soul would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go forth. 2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith Jehovah: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity. 3 For I will visit them with four kinds of punishments, saith Jehovah: the sword to slay, and dogs to tear, and the fowl of the heavens, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and to destroy. 4 And I will give them over to be driven hither and thither amongst all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem. 5 For who shall have pity upon thee, Jerusalem? and who shall bemoan thee? and who shall turn aside to ask after thy welfare? 6 Thou hast cast me off, saith Jehovah, thou art gone backward; and I have stretched out my hand against thee, and will destroy thee: I am become weary of repenting. 7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave of children and destroy my people: they have not returned from their ways. 8 Their widows are increased to me more than the sand of the seas; I have brought upon them, against the mother of the young men, a spoiler at noonday; I have caused anguish and terror to fall upon her suddenly. 9 She that hath borne seven languisheth, she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it is yet day; she is put to shame and confounded. And the residue of them will I give up to the sword before their enemies, saith Jehovah.

10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole land! I have not lent on usury, nor have they lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me. 11 Jehovah said, Verily I will set thee free for thy good; verily I will cause the enemy to meet thee kindly in the time of evil and in the time of affliction. 12 Will iron break? iron from the north? and bronze? 13 Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, and in all thy borders; 14 and I will make them to pass with thine enemies into a land that thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger; it shall burn upon you.

15 Jehovah, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; in thy long-suffering take me not away: know that for thy sake I bear reproach. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy words were unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts. 17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor exulted: I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation. 18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable? It refuseth to be healed. Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a treacherous spring, as waters that fail? 19 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: If thou return, then will I bring thee again, thou shalt stand before me; and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth. Let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them. 20 And I will make thee unto this people a strong brazen wall; and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee, to save thee and to deliver thee, saith Jehovah; 21 yea, I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

Izgonește-l dinaintea Mea, ducă-se! 2 Și dacă-ți vor zice: ‘Unde să ne ducem?’, să le răspunzi: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul: «La moarte*Cap. 43:11.Ezec. 5:2,12.Zah. 11:9., cei sortiți la moarte; la sabie, cei sortiți sabiei; la foamete, cei sortiți foametei; la robie, cei sortiți robiei!»’ 3 Căci voi trimite*Lev. 26:16. împotriva lor patru feluri de nenorociri", zice Domnul: „sabia ca să-i ucidă, câinii ca să-i sfâșie, păsările*Deut. 28:26. Cap. 7:33. cerului și fiarele pământului ca să-i mănânce și să-i nimicească. 4 Îi voi face de pomină*Deut. 28:25. Cap. 24:9.Ezec. 23:46. pentru toate împărățiile pământului, din pricina lui Manase*2 Împ. 21:11;23:26;24:3,4., fiul lui Ezechia, împăratul lui Iuda, și pentru tot ce a făcut el în Ierusalim. 5 Căci cine*Is. 51:19. să aibă milă de tine, Ierusalime, cine să te plângă? Cine să meargă să te întrebe de sănătate? 6 M-ai*Cap. 2:13. părăsit", zice Domnul, „ai dat*Cap. 7:24. înapoi, de aceea Îmi întind mâna împotriva ta și te nimicesc: sunt sătul*Osea 13:14. de milă. 7 Îi vântur cu lopata la porțile țării; îi lipsesc de copii, pierd pe poporul Meu, căci nu s-au*Is. 9:13. Cap. 5:3.Amos 4:10,11. abătut de la căile lor. 8 Văduvele lor sunt mai multe decât boabele de nisip din mare; peste mama tânărului, aduc un pustiitor ziua-n amiaza mare; fac să cadă deodată peste ea necazul și groaza. 9 Cea*1 Sam. 2:5. care născuse șapte fii tânjește, își dă sufletul; soarele ei apune*Amos 8:9. când este încă ziuă: este roșie, acoperită de rușine. Pe cei ce mai rămân, îi dau pradă sabiei înaintea vrăjmașilor lor", zice Domnul. 10 Vai de mine*Iov 3:1. Cap. 20:14., mamă, că m-ai născut pe mine, om de ceartă și de pricină pentru toată țara! Nu iau cu împrumut, nici nu dau cu împrumut, și totuși toți mă blestemă! 11 Domnul a răspuns: „Da, vei avea un viitor fericit; da, voi sili pe vrăjmaș*Cap. 39:11,12;40:4,5. să te roage la vreme de nenorocire și la vreme de necaz! 12 Poate fierul să frângă fierul de la miazănoapte și arama? 13 Averile și comorile tale le voi da pradă fără despăgubire*Ps. 44:12. Cap. 17:3., din pricina tuturor păcatelor tale, pe tot ținutul tău. 14 Te voi duce rob la vrăjmașul tău, într-o țară*Cap. 16:13;17:4. pe care n-o cunoști, căci focul mâniei*Deut. 32:22. Mele s-a aprins și arde peste voi!" 15 Tu știi tot*Cap. 12:3., Doamne! Adu-ți aminte de mine, nu mă uita, răzbună-mă*Cap. 11:20;20:12. pe prigonitorii mei! Nu mă lua, după îndelunga Ta răbdare! Gândește-Te că sufăr ocara*Ps. 69:7. din pricina Ta! 16 Când am primit cuvintele Tale, le-am*Ezec. 3:1,3.Apoc. 10:9,10. înghițit; cuvintele*Iov 23:12.Ps. 119:72,111. Tale au fost bucuria și veselia inimii mele, căci după Numele Tău sunt numit, Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor! 17 N-am șezut în adunarea*Ps. 1:1;26:4,5. celor ce petrec, ca să mă veselesc cu ei: de frica puterii Tale, am stat singur la o parte, căci mă umpluseși de mânie. 18 Pentru ce nu mai contenește suferința*Cap. 30:15. mea? Pentru ce mă ustură rana și nu vrea să se vindece? Să fii Tu pentru mine ca*Cap. 1:18,19. un izvor înșelător, ca o apă*Iov 6:15. care seacă? 19 De aceea așa vorbește Domnul: „Dacă te vei lipi*Zah. 3:7. iarăși de Mine, îți voi răspunde iarăși și vei sta înaintea*Vers. 1. Mea; dacă vei despărți*Ezec. 22:26;44:23. ce este de preț de ce este fără preț, vei fi ca gura Mea. Ei să se întoarcă la tine, nu tu să te întorci la ei! 20 Te voi face pentru poporul acesta ca un zid tare*Cap. 1:18;6:27. de aramă; ei se vor război cu tine, dar nu*Cap. 20:11,12. te vor birui; căci Eu voi fi cu tine, ca să te scap și să te izbăvesc", zice Domnul. 21 „Te voi izbăvi din mâna celor răi și te voi scăpa din mâna asupritorilor."
