Battete le mani, o popoli tutti; acclamate Iddio con grida d’allegrezza!2 Poiché l’Eterno, l’Altissimo, è tremendo, re supremo su tutta la terra.3 Egli riduce i popoli sotto di noi, e le nazioni sotto i nostri piedi.4 Egli scelse per noi la nostra eredità, gloria di Giacobbe ch’egli ama. Sela.5 Iddio è salito in mezzo alle acclamazioni, l’Eterno è salito al suon delle trombe.6 Salmeggiate a Dio, salmeggiate; salmeggiate al nostro re, salmeggiate!7 Poiché Dio è re di tutta la terra; cantategli un bell’inno.8 Iddio regna sulle nazioni; Iddio siede sul trono della sua santità.9 I principi de’ popoli s’adunano assieme per essere il popolo dell’Iddio d’Abramo: perché a Dio appartengono i potenti della terra; egli è sommamente elevato.

7 For God is the King of all the earth.

8 God reigns over the nations.

God sits on his holy throne.

9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together,

the people of the God of Abraham.

For the shields of the earth belong to God.

He is greatly exalted!
