Salmo di Davide.} L’anima mia s’acqueta in Dio solo; da lui viene la mia salvezza.2 Egli solo è la mia ròcca e la mia salvezza, il mio alto ricetto; io non sarò grandemente smosso.3 Fino a quando vi avventerete sopra un uomo e cercherete tutti insieme di abbatterlo come una parete che pende, come un muricciuolo che cede?4 Essi non pensano che a farlo cadere dalla sua altezza; prendon piacere nella menzogna; benedicono con la bocca, ma internamente maledicono. Sela.5 Anima mia, acquetati in Dio solo, poiché da lui viene la mia speranza.6 Egli solo è la mia ròcca e la mia salvezza; egli è il mio alto ricetto; io non sarò smosso.7 In Dio è la mia salvezza e la mia gloria; la mia forte ròcca e il mio rifugio sono in Dio.8 Confida in lui ogni tempo, o popolo; espandi il tuo cuore nel suo cospetto; Dio è il nostro rifugio. Sela.9 Gli uomini del volgo non sono che vanità, e i nobili non sono che menzogna; messi sulla bilancia vanno u, tutti assieme son più leggeri della vanità.10 Non confidate nell’oppressione, e non mettete vane speranze nella rapina; se le ricchezze abbondano, non vi mettete il cuore.11 Dio ha parlato una volta, due volte ho udito questo: che la potenza appartiene a Dio;12 e a te pure, o Signore, appartiene la misericordia; perché tu renderai a ciascuno secondo le sue opere.

My salvation is from him.

Would all of you throw him down,

5 My soul, wait in silence for God alone,

for my expectation is from him.

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.

7 My salvation and my honor is with God.

The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times, you people.

Pour out your heart before him.

God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are just a breath,

and men of high degree are a lie.

In the balances they will go up.

They are together lighter than a breath.

10 Don’t trust in oppression.

Don’t become vain in robbery.

If riches increase,

don’t set your heart on them.

11 God has spoken once;

twice I have heard this,

that power belongs to God.

12 Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,

for you reward every man according to his work.
