1 Eu amo a Deus, o Senhor,
porque ele me ouve;
ele escuta as minhas orações.
2 Ele me ouve
sempre que eu clamo pedindo socorro.
3 Os laços da morte estavam me apertando,
os horrores da sepultura
tomaram conta de mim,
e eu fiquei aflito e apavorado.
4 Então clamei ao Senhor, pedindo:
"Ó Senhor Deus, eu te peço:
Salva-me da morte!"
5 O Senhor é bondoso e fiel;
o nosso Deus tem compaixão de nós.
6 O Senhor protege os que não podem
se defender.
Quando eu estava em perigo,
ele me salvou.
7 Meu ser inteiro, continue confiando
em Deus, o Senhor,
pois ele tem sido bom para mim!
8 Deus me livrou da morte,
fez parar as minhas lágrimas
e não deixou que eu caísse
na desgraça.
9 Por isso, no mundo dos que estão vivos,
viverei uma vida de obediência a ele.
10 Eu continuei crendo,
mesmo quando disse:
"estou completamente esmagado."
11 Não parei de crer,
mesmo quando afirmei, sem pensar:
"não se pode confiar em ninguém."
12 Que posso eu oferecer a Deus, o Senhor,
por tudo de bom que ele me tem dado?
13 Levarei ao Senhor uma oferta de vinho
para lhe dar graças porque me salvou.
14 Na reunião de todo o seu povo
eu lhe darei o que prometi.
15 O Senhor Deus sente pesar
quando vê morrerem os que são fiéis a ele.
16 Ó Senhor, eu sou teu servo;
eu te sirvo, como te servia
a minha mãe.
Tu me livraste da morte.
17 Eu te darei uma oferta de gratidão
e a ti farei as minhas orações.
18,19 Na reunião de todo o teu povo,
nos pátios do teu Templo,
em Jerusalém,
eu te darei o que prometi.

1 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.2 Because he hath inclined his ear to me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.3 The sorrows of death encompassed me, and the pains of hell came upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.4 Then I called upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful.6 The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.7 Return to thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.12 What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits towards me?13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.14 I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people.15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.16 O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.18 I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people,19 In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
