1 Ó Senhor Deus, minha rocha,
eu peço a tua ajuda!
Não deixes de ouvir o meu pedido.
Se não me responderes,
eu estarei com aqueles
que descem ao mundo dos mortos.
2 Ouve-me quando levanto as mãos
na direção do teu santo Templo
e grito, pedindo a tua ajuda.
3 Não me castigues
juntamente com os maus,
com os que praticam más ações.
Eles falam como se fossem amigos,
mas o coração deles
está cheio de maldade.
4 Castiga essas pessoas
pelas suas ações,
por todo o mal que têm feito.
Dá aos maus o que merecem.
5 Eles não querem saber
do que o Senhor tem feito,
nem reparam nos seus atos poderosos;
por isso, ele os castigará
e os destruirá para sempre.
6 Louvado seja Deus, o Senhor,
pois ele ouviu o meu grito
pedindo ajuda.
7 O Senhor é a minha força
e o meu escudo;
com todo o coração eu confio nele.
O Senhor me ajuda;
por isso, o meu coração está feliz,
e eu canto hinos em seu louvor.
8 O Senhor Deus é a força do seu povo.
O Senhor é o refúgio seguro do rei
que ele escolheu.
9 Ó Deus, salva o teu povo
e abençoa aqueles que são teus!
Sê o pastor deles
e cuida deles para sempre.
1 A Psalm of David. To thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou shouldst be silent to me, I should become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry to thee, when I lift my hands towards thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he will destroy them, and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 The LORD is my strength, and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, and bless thy inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
