1 O Senhor Deus é Rei.
Alegre-se a terra!
Fiquem contentes, ilhas dos mares!
2 Em volta dele há nuvens
e escuridão;
as bases do seu reinado
são a honestidade e a justiça.
3 Na sua frente, vai um fogo
que queima os inimigos ao seu redor.
4 Os seus relâmpagos iluminam o mundo;
a terra vê e treme.
5 Os montes se derretem como cera
diante do Senhor,
diante do Senhor de toda a terra.
6 Os céus anunciam a sua justiça,
e todos os povos veem a sua glória.
7 Os que adoram imagens
ficam envergonhados;
passam vergonha
os que se gabam dos seus ídolos.
Diante de Deus, o Senhor,
todos os deuses se curvam.
8 Por causa dos teus julgamentos,
ó Senhor,
o povo de Jerusalém está contente,
e as cidades de Judá se alegram.
9 Ó Senhor, Deus Altíssimo,
tu governas o mundo inteiro,
tu estás acima de todos os deuses.
10 Vocês, que amam a Deus, o Senhor, odeiem o mal;
ele protege a vida dos que lhe são fiéis
e os livra do poder dos maus.
11 A luz ilumina a vida dos honestos,
e a alegria ilumina o caminho
dos que obedecem a Deus.
12 Que o Senhor seja a alegria
de vocês que são obedientes a ele!
Que o Santo Deus seja louvado!

1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad.2 Clouds and darkness surround him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols; worship him, all ye gods.8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
