1 Στη συνέχεια ο άντρας μ’ έφερε στον κυρίως ναό και μέτρησε τους τοίχους από τις δύο πλευρές της εισόδου που είχαν πάχος έξι πήχεις. 2 Το άνοιγμα της εισόδου ήταν δέκα πήχεις και οι τοίχοι δεξιά κι αριστερά της πέντε πήχεις ο καθένας. Κατόπιν μέτρησε το μήκος του ναού, που ήταν σαράντα πήχεις, και το πλάτος του, που ήταν είκοσι πήχεις. 3 Έπειτα μπήκε στον εσώτερο χώρο του ναού και μέτρησε τους τοίχους δίπλα στην είσοδο, που είχαν πάχος δύο πήχεις. Το άνοιγμα της εισόδου ήταν έξι πήχεις και οι τοίχοι δεξιά κι αριστερά της εφτά πήχεις ο καθένας. 4 Μέτρησε κατόπιν το μήκος του χώρου στο βάθος του ναού, που ήταν είκοσι πήχεις, και το πλάτος του, που ήταν επίσης είκοσι πήχεις, και μου είπε: «Αυτό είναι το άγιο των αγίων».

5 Έπειτα ο άνθρωπος μέτρησε τον τοίχο του ναού, που είχε πάχος έξι πήχεις. Εξωτερικά ο ναός περιβαλλόταν στις τρεις πλευρές του από παραοικοδομήματα πλάτους τεσσάρων πήχεων. 6 Τα παραοικοδομήματα ήταν τριώροφα και διέθεταν τριάντα δωμάτια στον κάθε όροφο. Στον εξωτερικό τοίχο του ναού υπήρχαν στηρίγματα, περιμετρικά, για να στηρίζονται τα δωμάτια, χωρίς να ακουμπάνε στον τοίχο του ναού. 7 Ανεβαίνοντας πλάταινε η επιφάνεια των δωματίων, γιατί μειωνόταν το πάχος του τοίχου σ’ όλη την περίμετρο του ναού. Έτσι μεγάλωνε ο χώρος εσωτερικά. Από το χαμηλότερο όροφο μπορούσε ν’ ανέβει κανείς προς τον ψηλότερο, περνώντας από το μεσαίο όροφο. 8 Γύρω γύρω στο ναό ήταν μια εξέδρα, που σχημάτιζε τα θεμέλια των παραοικοδομημάτων και που το ύψος της ήταν ένα ολόκληρο μετρικό ραβδί, έξι πήχεις μακρύ. 9 Το πάχος του εξωτερικού τοίχου των παραοικοδομημάτων ήταν πέντε πήχεις· και ανάμεσα στα πλαϊνά δωμάτια του ναού 10 και στα δωμάτια της αυλής υπήρχε απόσταση είκοσι πήχεις ολόγυρα στο ναό. 11 Οι θύρες των παραοικοδομημάτων άνοιγαν σ’ ελεύθερο χώρο, η μία θύρα προς το βορρά και η άλλη προς το νότο· το πλάτος του ελεύθερου χώρου της εξέδρας ήταν πέντε πήχεις ολόγυρα. 12 Στη δυτική πλευρά του ναού υπήρχε ελεύθερος χώρος και ένα ξεχωριστό οικοδόμημα, που είχε πλάτος εβδομήντα πήχεις και μήκος ενενήντα· ο τοίχος του οικοδομήματος είχε πάχος πέντε πήχεις ολόγυρα.

13 Έπειτα ο άντρας μέτρησε το ναό, που είχε μήκος εκατό πήχεις, καθώς και τον ελεύθερο χώρο μαζί με το δυτικό οικοδόμημα και τους τοίχους του, που είχαν μήκος επίσης εκατό πήχεις. 14 Το πλάτος του ελεύθερου χώρου προς την ανατολική πρόσοψη του ναού ήταν εκατό πήχεις. 15 Έπειτα μέτρησε το μήκος του οικοδομήματος, που ήταν απέναντι από τον ελεύθερο χώρο πίσω από το ναό, μαζί με τους διαδρόμους του από τη μια κι από την άλλη πλευρά, και ήταν εκατό πήχεις.

Το εσωτερικό του κυρίως ναού και του πρόναου, 16 τα πλαίσια των παραθύρων που στένευαν προς το εσωτερικό και το τριπλό γείσο, που άρχιζε από το κατώφλι και πήγαινε γύρω γύρω, είχαν ξύλινη επένδυση από το δάπεδο ως τα παράθυρα –τα παράθυρα ήταν καλυπτόμενα– 17 και πάνω από τη θύρα.

Σ’ όλους τους τοίχους γύρω γύρω, στο εσώτερο μέρος και στο ναό, 18 υπήρχαν σκαλισμένα χερουβίμ και φοινικόδεντρα· κάθε φοινικόδεντρο ανάμεσα σε δύο χερουβίμ. Κάθε χερούβ είχε δύο πρόσωπα. 19 Από την πλευρά του ενός φοινικόδεντρου ήταν ένα πρόσωπο ανθρώπου κι από την πλευρά του άλλου ένα πρόσωπο λιονταριού. Αυτά ήταν χαραγμένα σ’ όλο το ναό γύρω γύρω. 20 Από το δάπεδο μέχρι πάνω από τις πόρτες υπήρχαν σκαλισμένα χερουβίμ και φοινικόδεντρα στον τοίχο. 21 Οι παραστάτες της πύλης του ναού είχαν τετραπλό σκάλισμα, και μπροστά στο άγιο των αγίων ήταν κάτι που έμοιαζε με 22 ξύλινο θυσιαστήριο, τρεις πήχεις ψηλό, δύο πήχεις μακρύ και δύο πήχεις πλατύ· οι γωνίες του, η βάση του και οι πλευρές του ήταν από ξύλο. Ο άντρας μού είπε: «Αυτό είναι το τραπέζι που βρίσκεται ενώπιον του Κυρίου».

23 Ο κυρίως ναός και το άγιο των αγίων είχαν από μία θύρα. 24 Η καθεμιά τους είχε δύο θυρόφυλλα που ανοιγόκλειναν. 25 Στις θύρες του ναού ήταν σκαλισμένα χερουβίμ και φοινικόδεντρα όπως και στους τοίχους· επίσης υπήρχε ένα ξύλινο στέγαστρο στη μπροστινή πλευρά του πρόναου προς το έξω μέρος. 26 Στους δύο πλάγιους τοίχους του πρόναου και στα παραοικοδομήματα του ναού υπήρχαν παράθυρα που στένευαν προς το εσωτερικό και σκαλισμένα φοινικόδεντρα.

12 Now the building that was before the separate place at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits. 13 So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long; 14 Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits. 15 And he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which was behind it, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of the court;*41.15 galleries: or, several walks, or, walks with pillars 16 The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;*41.16 cieled…: Heb. cieling of wood*41.16 and from…: or, and the ground unto the windows 17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.*41.17 measure: Heb. measures 18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces; 19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about. 20 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple. 21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other.*41.21 posts: Heb. post 22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the LORD. 23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors. 24 And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door. 25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without. 26 And there were narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and upon the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.
