1 Μετά ο άντρας με οδήγησε στην ανατολική πύλη. 2 Εκεί είδα τη δόξα του Θεού του Ισραήλ να έρχεται από την ανατολή. Τη συνόδευε ένας ήχος, που έμοιαζε με τον ήχο πολλών νερών, και η γη φωτίστηκε από τη λάμψη της. 3 Το όραμα που είδα ήταν σαν εκείνο που είχα δει όταν ο Κύριος ήρθε να καταστρέψει την πόλη της Ιερουσαλήμ και σαν εκείνη που είχα δει κοντά στον ποταμό Χεβάρ.*Χεβάρ. Βλ. υποσ. εις κεφ. 1:1-2. Τότε εγώ έπεσα με το πρόσωπο στη γη. 4 Η δόξα του Κυρίου μπήκε στο ναό από την ανατολική πύλη.

5 Το Πνεύμα του Κυρίου με σήκωσε και μ’ έφερε στην εσωτερική αυλή, και η δόξα του Κυρίου γέμισε το ναό. 6 Ενώ ο άντρας που με είχε οδηγήσει εκεί στεκόταν ακόμη πλάι μου, άκουσα κάποιον να μου μιλάει μέσα από το ναό.

7 «Εσύ άνθρωπε»,*Εσύ άνθρωπε. Βλ. υποσ. εις κεφ. 2:1. μου είπε, «κοίταξε τον τόπο του θρόνου μου και το υποπόδιο που πατούν τα πόδια μου. Εδώ θα κατοικώ, ανάμεσα στους Ισραηλίτες, για πάντα. Ο λαός του Ισραήλ δεν θα ατιμάζει πια το άγιο όνομά μου με τις ακολασίες τους και με τα μνήματα των νεκρών βασιλιάδων τους. 8 Οι βασιλιάδες τους δεν θα χτίζουν πια τα παλάτια τους κοντά στο ναό μου· δε θα κατοικούν πλάι μου έχοντας μόνο έναν τοίχο να μας χωρίζει, γιατί έτσι βεβηλώνουν το άγιο όνομά μου με τις βδελυρές πράξεις τους, για τις οποίες εγώ γεμάτος θυμό τους εξολόθρευσα. 9 Ας σταματήσουν τώρα κιόλας οι Ισραηλίτες να λατρεύουν τα είδωλα και ας πάρουν από μπροστά μου τα μνήματα των νεκρών βασιλιάδων τους·*τα μνήματα των νεκρών βασιλιάδων τους. Ή: «με τα πτώματα των βασιλιάδων τους» (το ίδιο εις στ. 7). Το βασιλικό νεκροταφείο της Ιερουσαλήμ βρισκόταν μέσα στην πόλη (βλ. Α΄ Βασ 2:10· 11:43) δίπλα ακριβώς από τα ανάκτορα, τα οποία συνόρευαν με το ναό (βλ. στ. 8 και Α΄ Βασ 7:12). τότε κι εγώ θα κατοικώ ανάμεσά τους για πάντα.

10 «Εσύ όμως, άνθρωπε, δώσε στους Ισραηλίτες την περιγραφή του ναού, άφησέ τους το σχέδιό του να το μελετήσουν και κάνε τους να ντραπούν για τις αμαρτίες τους. 11 Κι άμα ντραπούν ειλικρινά για τις πράξεις τους, τότε παρουσίασέ τους το εξωτερικό του ναού, την εσωτερική διαρρύθμισή του, τις εισόδους του και τις εξόδους του και το σχέδιο συνολικά. Ζωγράφισέ τα όλα αυτά μπροστά στα μάτια τους και υπόδειξέ τους ν’ ακολουθούν όλες τις οδηγίες και τους κανονισμούς του ναού. 12 Η βασική διαταγή όμως για το ναό είναι αυτή: Ολόκληρη η περιοχή που τον περιβάλλει, μέχρι την κορυφή του βουνού, θα είναι αγιότατη».

13 Οι διαστάσεις του μεγάλου θυσιαστηρίου σε πήχεις, είναι οι εξής: Η τάφρος τριγύρω στη βάση του θα έχει έναν πήχυ πλάτος και έναν πήχυ βάθος και θα περιβάλλεται από γείσο που θα έχει ύψος μισό πήχυ. 14 Από ’κει και πάνω το θυσιαστήριο θα είναι χτισμένο κλιμακωτά. Το κάτω σκαλί θα έχει ύψος δύο πήχεις. Εκεί το θυσιαστήριο θα στενεύει κατά έναν πήχυ. Το επόμενο σκαλί θα έχει ύψος τέσσερις πήχεις και πάλι οι πλευρές του θυσιαστηρίου θα στενεύουν κατά έναν πήχυ. 15 Το πάνω τμήμα του θυσιαστηρίου θ’ ανεβαίνει κατά τέσσερις πήχεις. Αυτό το τμήμα θα είναι η εστία όπου θ’ ανάβουν τη φωτιά. Οι τέσσερις γωνιές του θα προεξέχουν προς τα πάνω. Αυτά θα είναι τα τέσσερα κέρατα. 16 Η εστία της φωτιάς θα είναι τετράγωνη, δώδεκα πήχεις η κάθε πλευρά. 17 Το κάτω σκαλί θα έχει δεκατέσσερις πήχεις μάκρος και δεκατέσσερις πλάτος. Τέλος η τάφρος θα έχει έναν πήχυ πλάτος και το γείσο τριγύρω μισόν πήχυ πλάτος. Θα μπορεί να φτάσει κανείς ψηλά στο θυσιαστήριο χάρη σε μερικά σκαλιά τοποθετημένα στην ανατολική πλευρά του.

18 Ο Κύριος ο Θεός μού είπε: «Εσύ, άνθρωπε, άκουσε· αυτοί είναι οι κανονισμοί για το θυσιαστήριο, όταν κατασκευαστεί. Σύμφωνα μ’ αυτούς θα προσφέρουν πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο ολοκαυτώματα και θα το ραντίζουν με το αίμα των ζώων: 19 Θα παραδώσεις ένα μοσχάρι στους ιερείς-λευίτες, τους απογόνους του Σαδώκ,*τους απογόνους του Σαδώκ. Βλ. υποσ. εις κεφ. 40:46. οι οποίοι είναι και οι μόνοι που επιτρέπεται να με πλησιάζουν για να με υπηρετούν· κι αυτοί θα το προσφέρουν θυσία εξιλέωσης. 20 Θα πάρεις από το αίμα του ζώου και θα βάλεις στα τέσσερα κέρατα του θυσιαστηρίου, στις τέσσερις γωνίες της τάφρου και στο γείσο του γύρω γύρω. Έτσι θα το καθαρίσεις και θα το εξαγνίσεις. 21 Κατόπιν θα πεις να πάρουν το μοσχάρι για τη θυσία εξιλέωσης και να το κάψουν στην ορισμένη θέση του ναού, έξω από το αγιαστήριο.

22 »Τη δεύτερη μέρα θα προσφέρεις έναν τράγο χωρίς ελάττωμα προσφορά εξιλέωσης και θα κάνεις εξαγνισμό του θυσιαστηρίου, όπως με το μοσχάρι. 23 Αφού τελειώσεις τον εξαγνισμό, θα προσφέρεις ένα μοσχάρι χωρίς ελάττωμα και ένα κριάρι επίσης χωρίς ελάττωμα, από το κοπάδι. 24 Αφού τα φέρεις μπροστά σ’ εμένα τον Κύριο, οι ιερείς θα τους βάλουν αλάτι.*Το αλάτι ήταν μέσον εξαγνισμού (βλ. Εξ 30:35· Β΄ Βασ 2:20) κι επίσης σύμβολο συμφωνίας (βλ. Λευ 2:13· Αρ 18:19). και θα μου τα προσφέρουν ολοκαύτωμα.

25 »Κάθε μέρα και για εφτά μέρες θα προσφέρεις έναν τράγο θυσία εξιλέωσης κι επίσης θα προσφέρεις ένα μοσχάρι κι ένα κριάρι από το κοπάδι· όλα θα είναι χωρίς κανένα ελάττωμα. 26 Μ’ αυτό τον τρόπο για εφτά μέρες θα κάνουν καθαρμούς στο θυσιαστήριο, θα το εξαγνίσουν και θα το καθαγιάσουν για τη λατρεία. 27 Όταν συμπληρωθούν αυτές οι μέρες, από την όγδοη μέρα και μετά, θα προσφέρουν οι ιερείς πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο τα ολοκαυτώματά σας και τις θυσίες κοινωνίας και εγώ θα σας αποδέχομαι».

Αυτά λέει ο Κύριος, ο Θεός.

1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: 2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. 3 And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.*43.3 when…: or, when I came to prophesy that the city should be destroyed 4 And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. 5 So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house. 6 And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me.

7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places. 8 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.*43.8 and the…: or, for there was but a wall between me and them 9 Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.

10 Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.*43.10 pattern: or, sum, or, number 11 And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them. 12 This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.

13 And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is a cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.*43.13 bottom: Heb. bosom*43.13 edge: Heb. lip 14 And from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser settle even to the greater settle shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit. 15 So the altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar and upward shall be four horns.*43.15 the altar shall: Heb. Ariel, that is, the lion of God 16 And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in the four squares thereof. 17 And the settle shall be fourteen cubits long and fourteen broad in the four squares thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and the bottom thereof shall be a cubit about; and his stairs shall look toward the east.

18 And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon. 19 And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering. 20 And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and upon the border round about: thus shalt thou cleanse and purge it. 21 Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, without the sanctuary. 22 And on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse it with the bullock. 23 When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, thou shalt offer a young bullock without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish. 24 And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD. 25 Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. 26 Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it; and they shall consecrate themselves.*43.26 consecrate…: Heb. fill their hands 27 And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.*43.27 peace…: or, thank offerings
