1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice. 2 And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land. 3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. 4 And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. 5 The fool shall be no more called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful. 6 For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. 7 And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. 8 But the noble deviseth noble things; and in noble things shall he continue.

9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease, and hear my voice; ye careless daughters, give ear unto my speech. 10 For days beyond a year shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come. 11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. 12 They shall smite upon the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine. 13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city. 14 For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; 15 until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest.

16 Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field. 17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence for ever. 18 And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places. 19 But it shall hail in the downfall of the forest; and the city shall be utterly laid low. 20 Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth the feet of the ox and the ass.

1 Atunci împăratul*Ps. 45:1.Ier. 23:5.Osea 3:5.Zah. 9:9. va împărăți cu dreptate și voievozii vor cârmui cu nepărtinire. 2 Fiecare va fi ca un adăpost împotriva vântului și ca un*Cap. 4:6;25:4. loc de scăpare împotriva furtunii, ca niște râuri de apă într-un loc uscat, ca umbra unei stânci mari într-un pământ ars de sete. 3 Ochii*Cap. 29:18;35:5,6. celor ce văd nu vor mai fi legați și urechile celor ce aud vor lua aminte. 4 Inima celor ușuratici va pricepe și va înțelege și limba gângavilor va vorbi iute și deslușit. 5 Nebunul nu se va mai numi ales la suflet, nici mișelul nu se va mai numi cu inimă largă. 6 Căci nebunul spune nebunii și inima lui gândește rău, ca să lucreze în chip nelegiuit și să spună neadevăruri împotriva Domnului, ca să lase lihnit sufletul celui flămând și să ia băutura celui însetat. 7 Armele mișelului sunt nimicitoare; el face planuri vinovate ca să piardă pe cel nenorocit prin cuvinte mincinoase, chiar când pricina săracului este dreaptă. 8 Dar cel ales la suflet face planuri alese și stăruiește în planurile lui alese. 9 Femei fără grijă*Amos 6:1., sculați-vă și ascultați glasul meu! Fiice nepăsătoare, luați aminte la cuvântul meu! 10 Într-un an și câteva zile, veți tremura, nepăsătoarelor, căci se va duce culesul viilor și strângerea poamelor nu va mai veni. 11 Îngroziți-vă, voi, cele fără grijă! Tremurați, nepăsătoarelor! Dezbrăcați-vă, dezgoliți-vă și încingeți-vă coapsele cu haine de jale! 12 Bateți-vă pieptul, aducându-vă aminte de frumusețea câmpiilor și de rodnicia viilor. 13 Pe*Cap. 34:13.Osea 9:6. pământul poporului meu cresc spini și mărăcini, chiar și în toate casele de plăcere ale cetății*Cap. 22:2. celei vesele. 14 Casa împărătească*Cap. 27:10. este părăsită, cetatea gălăgioasă este lăsată; dealul și turnul vor sluji pe vecie ca peșteri; măgarii sălbatici se vor juca în ele și turmele vor paște 15 până când se va turna Duhul*Ps. 104:30.Ioel 2:28. de sus peste noi; atunci pustia*Cap. 29:17;35:2. se va preface în pământ și pometul va fi privit ca o pădure. 16 Atunci nepărtinirea va locui în pustie și neprihănirea își va avea locuința în pomet. 17 Lucrarea*Iac. 3:18. neprihănirii va fi pacea; roadele neprihănirii: odihna și liniștea pe vecie. 18 Poporul meu va locui în locuința păcii, în case fără grijă și în adăposturi liniștite. 19 Dar pădurea va fi prăbușită sub grindină, și cetatea*Cap. 30:30., plecată adânc*Zah. 11:2.. 20 Ferice de voi, care semănați pretutindeni de-a lungul apelor și care dați drumul pretutindeni boului*Cap. 30:24. și măgarului!
