Salmos 132

A Song of degrees.

1 LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:

2 How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,

5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.*132.5 an habitation: Heb. habitations

6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

10 For thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.*132.11 body: Heb. belly

12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.*132.15 abundantly: or, surely

16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.*132.17 lamp: or, candle

18 His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Prière au sujet des promesses faites à David.

1 Cantique de Mahaloth. Ô Eternel ! souviens-toi de David, et de toute son affliction. 2 Lequel a juré à l’Eternel, et fait voeu au Puissant de Jacob, en disant : 3 Si j’entre au Tabernacle de ma maison, et si je monte sur le lit où je couche ; 4 Si je donne du sommeil à mes yeux, si je laisse sommeiller mes paupières, 5 Jusqu’à ce que j’aurai trouvé un lieu à l’Eternel, et des pavillons pour le Puissant de Jacob. 6 Voici, nous avons ouï parler d’elle vers Ephrat, nous l’avons trouvée aux champs de Jahar. 7 Nous entrerons dans ses pavillons, et nous nous prosternerons devant son marchepied. 8 Lève-toi, ô Eternel ! pour venir en ton repos, toi, et l’Arche de ta force. 9 Que tes Sacrificateurs soient revêtus de la justice, et que tes bien-aimés chantent de joie. 10 Pour l’amour de David ton serviteur, ne fais point que ton Oint tourne le visage en arrière. 11 L’Eternel a juré en vérité à David, et il ne se rétractera point, disant : je mettrai du fruit de ton ventre sur ton trône. 12 Si tes enfants gardent mon alliance, et mon témoignage, que je leur enseignerai, leurs fils aussi seront assis à perpétuité sur ton trône. 13 Car l’Eternel a choisi Sion ; il l’a préférée pour être son siège. 14 Elle est, dit-il, mon repos à perpétuité ; j’y demeurerai, parce que je l’ai chérie. 15 Je bénirai abondamment ses vivres ; je rassasierai de pain ses pauvres. 16 Et je revêtirai ses Sacrificateurs de délivrance ; et ses bien-aimés chanteront avec des transports. 17 Je ferai qu’en elle germera une corne à David ; je préparerai une lampe à mon Oint. 18 Je revêtirai de honte ses ennemis, et son diadème fleurira sur lui.
