1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.*46.1 for: or, of

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;*46.2 midst…: Heb. heart of the seas

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.*46.5 and…: Heb. when the morning appeareth

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.*46.7 our…: Heb. an high place for us

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

1 Cantique des enfants de Coré, donné au maître chantre, pour le chanter sur Halamoth. 2 Dieu est notre retraite, notre force, et notre secours dans les détresses ; et fort aisé à trouver. 3 C’est pourquoi nous ne craindrons point, quand on remuerait la terre, et que les montagnes se renverseraient dans la mer ; 4 Quand ses eaux viendraient à bruire et à se troubler, et que les montagnes seraient ébranlées par l’élévation de ses vagues ; Sélah. 5 Les ruisseaux de la rivière réjouiront la ville de Dieu, qui est le saint lieu où demeure le Souverain. 6 Dieu est au milieu d’elle ; elle ne sera point ébranlée. Dieu lui donnera du secours dès le point du jour. 7 Les nations ont mené du bruit, les Royaumes ont été ébranlés ; il a fait ouïr sa voix, et la terre s’est fondue. 8 L’Eternel des armées est avec nous ; le Dieu de Jacob nous est une haute retraite ; Sélah. 9 Venez, contemplez les faits de l’Eternel, et voyez quels dégâts il a faits en la terre. 10 Il a fait cesser les guerres jusques au bout de la terre ; il rompt les arcs, il brise les hallebardes, il brûle les chariots par feu. 11 Cessez, a-t-il dit, et connaissez que je suis Dieu ; je serai exalté parmi les nations, je serai exalté par toute la terre.
