Salmos 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;*63.1 thirsty: Heb. weary*63.1 where…: without water

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:*63.5 marrow: Heb. fatness

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.*63.10 They shall fall…: Heb. They shall make him run out like water by the hands of

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Zèle de David à rechercher Dieu.

1 Psaume de David, lorsqu’il était dans le désert de Juda. 2 Ô Dieu ! tu es mon Dieu Fort, je te cherche au point du jour ; mon âme a soif de toi, ma chair te souhaite en cette terre déserte, altérée, et sans eau. 3 Pour voir ta force et ta gloire, ainsi que je t’ai contemplé dans ton Sanctuaire. 4 Car ta gratuité est meilleure que la vie ; mes lèvres te loueront. 5 Et ainsi je te bénirai durant ma vie, et j’élèverai mes mains en ton Nom. 6 Mon âme est rassasiée comme de moelle et de graisse ; et ma bouche te loue avec un chant de réjouissance. 7 Quand je me souviens de toi dans mon lit, je médite de toi durant les veilles de la nuit. 8 Parce que tu m’as été en secours, à cause de cela je me réjouirai à l’ombre de tes ailes. 9 Mon âme s’est attachée à toi pour te suivre, et ta droite me soutient. 10 Mais ceux-ci qui demandent que mon âme tombe en ruine, entreront au plus bas de la terre. 11 On les détruira à coups d’épée ; ils seront la portion des renards. Mais le Roi se réjouira en Dieu ; et quiconque jure par lui s’en glorifiera ; car la bouche de ceux qui mentent sera fermée.
