Salmos 62

To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.*62.1 Truly: or, Only*62.1 waiteth: Heb. is silent

2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.*62.2 defence: Heb. high place

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.*62.4 inwardly: Heb. in their inward parts

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.*62.9 altogether: or, alike

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.*62.11 power: or, strength

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

L’assurance et la tranquillité d’une âme fidèle.

1 Psaume de David, donné au maître chantre, d’entre les enfants de Jéduthun. 2 Quoiqu’il en soit, mon âme se repose en Dieu ; c’est de lui que vient ma délivrance. 3 Quoiqu’il en soit, il est mon rocher, et ma délivrance, et ma haute retraite ; je ne serai pas entièrement ébranlé. 4 Jusques à quand machinerez-vous des maux contre un homme ? Vous serez tous mis à mort, et vous serez comme le mur qui penche, et comme une cloison qui a été ébranlée. 5 Ils ne font que consulter pour le faire déchoir de son élévation ; ils prennent plaisir au mensonge ; ils bénissent de leur bouche, mais au-dedans ils maudissent ; Sélah. 6 Mais toi mon âme, demeure tranquille, regardant à Dieu ; car mon attente est en lui. 7 Quoiqu’il en soit, il est mon rocher, et ma délivrance, et ma haute retraite ; je ne serai point ébranlé. 8 En Dieu est ma délivrance et ma gloire ; en Dieu est le rocher de ma force et ma retraite. 9 Peuples, confiez-vous en lui en tout temps, déchargez votre coeur devant lui ; Dieu est notre retraite ; Sélah. 10 Ceux du bas état ne sont que vanité : les nobles ne sont que mensonge ; si on les mettait tous ensemble en une balance, ils se trouveraient plus légers que la vanité même. 11 Ne mettez point votre confiance dans la tromperie, ni dans la rapine ; ne devenez point vains ; et quand les richesses abonderont, n’y mettez point votre cœur. 12 Dieu a une fois parlé, et j’ai ouï cela deux fois, savoir, que la force est à Dieu. Et c’est à toi, Seigneur, qu’appartient la gratuité ; certainement tu rendras à chacun selon son oeuvre.
