Salmos 47

To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.*47.1 for: or, of

2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.*47.7 with: or, every one that hath

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.*47.9 princes…: or, voluntary of the people are gathered unto the people of the God of Abraham

Cantique de louange et d’action de grâces, composé à l’occasion de quelque grande victoire.

1 Psaume des enfants de Coré, donné au maître chantre. 2 Peuples battez tous des mains, jetez des cris de réjouissance à Dieu avec une voix de triomphe. 3 Car l’Eternel qui est le Souverain est terrible et il est grand Roi sur toute la terre. 4 Il range les peuples sous nous, et les nations, sous nos pieds. 5 Il nous a choisi, notre héritage, qui est la magnificence de Jacob, lequel il aime ; Sélah. 6 Dieu est monté avec un cri de réjouissance ; l’Eternel est monté avec un son de trompette. 7 Psalmodiez à Dieu, psalmodiez, psalmodiez à notre Roi, psalmodiez. 8 Car Dieu est le Roi de toute la terre ; tout homme entendu, psalmodiez. 9 Dieu règne sur les nations ; Dieu est assis sur le trône de sa sainteté. Les principaux des peuples se sont assembles vers le peuple du Dieu d’Abraham ; car les boucliers de la terre sont à Dieu ; il est fort exalté.
