Provérbios 28

1 E rere ana te hunga kino i te mea kāhore he kaiwhai;

ko te tangata tika anō ia, ānō he raiona te māia.

2 He hē nō tētahi whenua

i tokomaha ai ōna rangatira;

nā, kia ai he tangata e mahara ana, e mātau ana,

ka mau roa ai tōna āhua.

3 Ko te tangata rawakore e tūkino ana i ngā ware,

ko tōna rite kei te ua tā e kore ai te kai.

4 Ko te hunga e whakarere ana i te ture,

he whakamoemiti tā rātou ki te tangata kino;

ko tā ngā kaipupuri ia o te ture he ngangare ki a rātou.

5 E kore te hunga kino e mōhio ki te whakawā:

ko te hunga ia e rapu ana i a Ihowā, ka mōhio rātou ki ngā mea katoa.

6 He pai kē te rawakore e haere ana i runga i tōna tapatahi,

i te tangata he parori kē ōna ara, ahakoa he whai taonga ia.

7 Ko te tangata e pupuri ana i te ture, he tamaiti mōhio ia;

engari ko te tangata whakahoa ki te hunga kakai,

ka whakamā tōna pāpā i a ia.

8 Ko te tangata e whakanui ana i ōna rawa ki te moni whakatupu, ki te whakapiki utu,

e kohia ana e ia ērā mā te tangata e atawhaitia ai te rawakore.

9 Ko te tangata e tahuri kē ana tōna taringa,

ā, kāhore e rongo ki te ture, ko tāna īnoi nei ānō he mea whakarihariha.

10 Ko te tangata i meinga ai te hunga tika,

kia kotiti kē ki te ara hē, ka taka a ia anō ki tāna ake poka;

ka whiwhi ia te hunga ngākau tapatahi ki te pai.

11 Ki te whakaaro a te tangata taonga he nui tōna whakaaro mōhio;

otiia e rapua ana tāna e te rawakore whai whakaaro.

12 Nui atu te ātaahua, ina koa te hunga tika;

engari ki te ara te hunga kino, ka huna ngā tāngata i a rātou.

13 Ko te tangata e hīpoki ana i ōna hē, e kore tāna e kake;

ko te tangata ia e whāki ana, ā, e whakarere ana, ka tohungia.

14 Ka hari te tangata e wehi tonu ana;

ko te tangata ia e whakapakeke ana i tōna ngākau, ka taka ki te kino.

15 E rite ana ki te raiona e hāmama ana, ki te pea e kōpikopiko ana,

te tangata kino e kīngi ana ki te iwi rawakore.

16 Ko te rangatira kore whakaaro he nui anō tāna tūkino;

ko te tangata ia e kino ana ki te apo ka roa ōna rā.

17 Ko te tangata e waha ana i te toto o te tangata,

ka rere ia ki roto ki te rua;

kaua tētahi e pupuri i a ia.

18 Ko te tangata he tapatahi nei te haere, ka ora;

ko te tangata ia he parori kē ōna ara, hinga tonu iho.

19 Ko te tangata e ngaki ana i tōna oneone, ka mākona i te taro;

ko te tangata ia e whai ana i te hunga wairangi, ka whiwhi nui ki te rawakore.

20 Ko te tangata pono, ka nui ngā manaaki mōna;

ko te tangata ia e hīkaka ana ki te mea taonga, e kore ia e kore te whiwhi i te hē.

21 Ko te whakapai kanohi ehara i te mea pai –

28 Ka ara te hunga kino, ka huna ngā tāngata i a rātou;

nā, ki te ngaro rātou, ka tupu te hunga tika.

Le juste a de l’assurance comme un jeune lion.

2 Quand un pays est en révolte, les chefs sont nombreux;

Mais avec un homme qui a de l’intelligence et de la science,

Le règne se prolonge.

3 Un homme pauvre qui opprime les misérables

Est une pluie violente qui fait manquer le pain.

4 Ceux qui abandonnent la loi louent le méchant,

Mais ceux qui observent la loi s’irritent contre lui.

5 Les hommes livrés au mal ne comprennent pas ce qui est juste,

Mais ceux qui cherchent l’Éternel comprennent tout.

6 *Pr 19:1.Mieux vaut le pauvre qui marche dans son intégrité,

Que celui qui a des voies tortueuses et qui est riche.

7 *Pr 29:3.Celui qui observe la loi est un fils intelligent,

Mais celui qui fréquente les débauchés fait honte à son père.

8 Celui qui augmente ses biens par l’intérêt et l’usure

Les amasse pour celui qui a pitié des pauvres.

9 Si quelqu’un détourne l’oreille pour ne pas écouter la loi,

Sa prière même est une abomination.

10 Celui qui égare les hommes droits dans la mauvaise voie

*Pr 26:27.Tombe dans la fosse qu’il a creusée;

Mais les hommes intègres héritent le bonheur.

11 L’homme riche se croit sage;

Mais le pauvre qui est intelligent le sonde.

12 *Pr 11:10,11.Quand les justes triomphent, c’est une grande gloire;

*v. 28.Quand les méchants s’élèvent, chacun se cache.

13 Celui qui cache ses transgressions ne prospère point,

*Ps 32:3,5.1 Jn 1:9,10.Mais celui qui les avoue et les délaisse obtient miséricorde.

14 Heureux l’homme qui est continuellement dans la crainte!

Mais celui qui endurcit son cœur tombe dans le malheur.

15 Comme un lion rugissant et un ours affamé,

Ainsi est le méchant qui domine sur un peuple pauvre.

16 Un prince sans intelligence multiplie les actes d’oppression,

Mais celui qui est ennemi de la cupidité prolonge ses jours.

17 Un homme chargé du sang d’un autre

Fuit jusqu’à la fosse: qu’on ne l’arrête pas!

18 Celui qui marche dans l’intégrité trouve le salut,

Mais celui qui suit deux voies tortueuses tombe dans l’une d’elles.

19 Celui qui cultive son champ est rassasié de pain,

Mais celui qui poursuit des choses vaines est rassasié de pauvreté.

20 Un homme fidèle est comblé de bénédictions,

*Pr 13:11;20:21;23:4.Mais celui qui a hâte de s’enrichir ne reste pas impuni.

21 *Pr 18:5;24:23.Il n’est pas bon d’avoir égard aux personnes,

Et pour un morceau de pain un homme se livre au péché.

22 Un homme envieux a hâte de s’enrichir,

Et il ne sait pas que la disette viendra sur lui.

23 Celui qui reprend les autres trouve ensuite plus de faveur

Que celui dont la langue est flatteuse.

24 Celui qui vole son père et sa mère,

Et qui dit: Ce n’est pas un péché!

Est le compagnon du destructeur.

25 *Pr 13:10;15:18;29:22.L’orgueilleux excite les querelles,

Mais celui qui se confie en l’Éternel est rassasié.

26 Celui qui a confiance dans son propre cœur est un insensé,

Mais celui qui marche dans la sagesse sera sauvé.

27 *De 15:7,8,10.Pr 19:17;22:9.Celui qui donne au pauvre n’éprouve pas la disette,

Mais celui qui ferme les yeux est chargé de malédictions.

28 *v. 12.Quand les méchants s’élèvent, chacun se cache;

Et quand ils périssent, les justes se multiplient.
