Cântico de peregrinação.

1 Quando o Senhor trouxe restauração a Sião,*126.1 Ou trouxe os cativos de volta a.

era como se estivéssemos sonhando.*126.1 Ou nós ficamos como os que têm a saúde restaurada.

2 Então, a nossa boca se encheu de riso;

a nossa língua, de cantos de alegria.

Até nas outras nações se dizia:

"O Senhor fez coisas grandiosas por este povo".

3 Sim, coisas grandiosas fez o Senhor por nós;

por isso, estamos alegres.

4 Senhor, restaura-nos*126.4 Ou traz os nossos cativos de volta.

como as correntes no Neguebe.

5 Aqueles que semeiam com lágrimas

colherão com cânticos de alegria.

6 Aquele que sai chorando,

enquanto lança a semente,

voltará com cantos de alegria,

trazendo os seus feixes.

A Song of Ascents.

1 When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion,

We were like unto them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter,

And our tongue with singing:

Then said they among the nations,

Jehovah hath done great things for them.

3 Jehovah hath done great things for us,

Whereof we are glad.

4 Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah,

As the streams in the South.

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing,

Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
