Salmos 86

Oração de Davi.

1 Inclina os teus ouvidos, ó Senhor, e responde-me,

pois sou pobre e necessitado.

2 Guarda a minha vida, pois sou fiel a ti;

salva o teu servo que em ti confia!

Tu és o meu Deus.

3 Misericórdia, Senhor,

pois clamo a ti todo o dia.

4 Alegra o teu servo,

pois a ti, Senhor, elevo a minha alma.

5 Tu és bondoso e perdoador, Senhor,

rico em amor leal para com todos os que te invocam.

6 Escuta a minha oração, Senhor;

atenta para a voz da minha súplica!

7 No dia da minha angústia clamarei a ti,

pois tu me responderás.

8 Entre os deuses, não há nenhum que se compare a ti, Senhor;

nenhuma obra é comparável às tuas.

9 Todas as nações que tu formaste

virão e adorarão a ti, Senhor,

e glorificarão o teu nome.

10 Pois tu és grande e realizas feitos maravilhosos;

só tu és Deus!

11 Ensina-me o teu caminho, Senhor,

para que eu ande na tua verdade.

Concede-me um coração íntegro

para que eu tema o teu nome.

12 De todo o meu coração te louvarei, Senhor, meu Deus;

glorificarei o teu nome para sempre.

13 Pois grande é o teu amor leal para comigo;

tu me livraste das profundezas do Sheol.*86.13 Essa palavra também pode ser traduzida por profundezas ou morte.

14 Os arrogantes estão me atacando, ó Deus;

um bando de homens cruéis procura tirar-me a vida;

gente que não faz caso de ti.

15 Mas tu, Senhor, és Deus compassivo e misericordioso,

tardio em irar-se e cheio de amor leal e fidelidade.

16 Volta-te para mim! Tem misericórdia de mim!

Concede a tua força ao teu servo

e salva o filho da tua serva.*86.16 Ou salva o teu filho fiel.

17 Dá-me um sinal da tua bondade,

para que os meus inimigos vejam e sejam humilhados,

pois tu, Senhor, me ajudaste e me consolaste.

A Prayer of David.

1 Bow down thine ear, O Jehovah, and answer me;

For I am poor and needy.

2 Preserve my soul; for I am godly:

O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord;

For unto thee do I cry all the day long.

4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant;

For unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive,

And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.

6 Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer;

And hearken unto the voice of my supplications.

7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee;

For thou wilt answer me.

8 There is none like unto thee among the gods, O Lord;

Neither are there any works like unto thy works.

9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord;

And they shall glorify thy name.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things:

Thou art God alone.

11 Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth:

Unite my heart to fear thy name.

12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart;

And I will glorify thy name for evermore.

13 For great is thy lovingkindness toward me;

And thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

14 O God, the proud are risen up against me,

And a company of violent men have sought after my soul,

And have not set thee before them.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious,

Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

16 Oh turn unto me, and have mercy upon me;

Give thy strength unto thy servant,

And save the son of thy handmaid.

17 Show me a token for good,

That they who hate me may see it, and be put to shame,

Because thou, Jehovah, hast helped me, and comforted me.
