Salmos 63

Salmo de Davi. Quando ele estava no deserto de Judá.

1 Ó Deus, tu és o meu Deus,

eu te busco intensamente;

a minha alma tem sede de ti!

Todo o meu ser anseia por ti

como em uma terra seca, exausta e sem água.

2 Certamente, eu te contemplei no santuário

e vi o teu poder e a tua glória.

3 O teu amor leal é melhor do que a vida!

Por isso, os meus lábios te exaltarão.

4 Enquanto viver, eu te bendirei

e em teu nome levantarei as minhas mãos.

5 A minha alma ficará satisfeita

como quando tem rico banquete;

com lábios jubilosos a minha boca te louvará.

6 Quando me deito, lembro-me de ti;

penso em ti durante as vigílias da noite.

7 Porque és a minha ajuda,

canto de alegria à sombra das tuas asas.

8 A minha alma apega-se a ti;

a tua mão direita me sustém.

9 Aqueles, porém, que querem matar-me serão destruídos;

descerão às profundezas da terra.

10 Serão entregues à espada

e devorados por chacais.

11 O rei se alegrará em Deus;

todos os que juram pelo nome de Deus o louvarão,

mas a boca dos mentirosos será fechada.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee:

My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee,

In a dry and weary land, where no water is.

2 So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary,

To see thy power and thy glory.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,

My lips shall praise thee.

4 So will I bless thee while I live:

I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;

And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;

6 When I remember thee upon my bed,

And meditate on thee in the night-watches.

7 For thou hast been my help,

And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee:

Thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it,

Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall be given over to the power of the sword:

They shall be a portion for foxes.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God:

Every one that sweareth by him shall glory;

For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
