1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, tem misericórdia,

pois em ti a minha alma se refugia.

Eu me refugiarei à sombra das tuas asas,

até que passe o perigo.

2 Clamo ao Deus Altíssimo,

a Deus, que me vinga.*57.2 Ou que cumpre o propósito que tem para comigo.

3 Dos céus ele me envia a salvação,

põe em fuga os que me perseguem de perto; Pausa

Deus envia o seu amor leal e a sua fidelidade.

4 Estou em meio a leões,

ávidos para devorar;

os seus dentes são lanças e flechas,

e a sua língua é espada afiada.

5 Sê exaltado, ó Deus, acima dos céus!

Sobre toda a terra esteja a tua glória!

6 Preparam armadilhas para os meus pés;

fiquei muito abatido.

Abriram uma cova no meu caminho,

mas foram eles que nela caíram. Pausa

7 O meu coração está firme, ó Deus,

o meu coração está firme;

cantarei e louvarei!

8 Acorde, minha alma!

Acordem, harpa e lira!

Despertarei a alvorada!

9 Eu te darei graças, ó Senhor, entre as nações;

For my soul taketh refuge in thee:

2 I will cry unto God Most High,

Unto God that performeth all things for me.

3 He will send from heaven, and save me,

When he that would swallow me up reproacheth; [Selah

God will send forth his lovingkindness and his truth.

4 My soul is among lions;

I lie among them that are set on fire,

Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,

And their tongue a sharp sword.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;

Let thy glory be above all the earth.

6 They have prepared a net for my steps;

My soul is bowed down:

They have digged a pit before me;
