Ezequiel 14

O castigo dos idólatras e dos seus profetas

1 Então, vieram ter comigo alguns dos *Ez 8.1;20.1;2Rs 6.32anciãos de Israel e *Ez 33.31-32;Is 29.13se assentaram diante de mim. 2 Veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 3 Filho do homem, estes homens *Ez 20.16deram lugar no seu coração aos seus ídolos *Ez 14.4,7;Ez 7.19;Sf 1.3e puseram diante da sua face o tropeço da sua iniquidade; acaso, permitirei que eles *Ez 20.3,31;Is 1.15;Jr 11.11me consultem? 4 Portanto, fala com eles e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Todo homem da casa de Israel que der lugar no seu coração aos seus ídolos, e puser diante da sua face o tropeço da sua iniquidade, e vier ter com o profeta, *Ez 14.7eu, Jeová, lhe responderei nisso segundo *1Rs 21.20-24;2Rs 1.16;Is 66.4a multidão dos seus ídolos; 5 para que eu apanhe a casa de Israel *Jr 17.10;Zc 7.12no seu coração, porque são todos *Is 1.4;Jr 2.11;Zc 11.8alienados de mim pelos seus ídolos.

6 Portanto, dize à casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: *Ez 18.30;1Sm 7.3;Ne 1.9;Is 2.20;30.22;55.6-7Convertei-vos, e apartai-vos dos vossos ídolos, e desviai os vossos rostos de todas as vossas *Ez 14.4;Ez 8.6abominações. 7 Pois qualquer homem da casa de Israel ou dos *Êx 12.48;20.10estrangeiros que peregrinam em Israel que se alienar de mim, e der lugar no seu coração aos seus ídolos, e puser diante da sua face o tropeço da sua iniquidade, e vier ter com o profeta, a fim de me consultar a favor de si mesmo, *Ez 14.4eu lhe responderei de mim mesmo. 8 *Ez 15.7;Jr 44.11Porei o meu rosto contra o tal homem, e o farei *Ez 5.15;Is 65.15um objeto de espanto, para servir de provérbio, e o exterminarei do meio do meu povo; *Ez 6.7e sabereis que eu sou Jeová. 9 Se o profeta for enganado e falar alguma palavra, *1Rs 22.20-23;Sl 81.11-12;Is 63.17;66.4;Jr 4.10;2Ts 2.9-12eu, Jeová, enganei esse profeta, estenderei a minha mão sobre ele e *Jr 6.14-15;14.15o destruirei do meio do meu povo de Israel. 10 Eles *Ez 44.10,12levarão sobre si a sua iniquidade; a iniquidade do profeta será como a iniquidade de quem o consultar; 11 para que a casa de Israel *Ez 44.10,15;48.11não se desvie mais de mim, nem *Ez 11.18;37.23se contamine mais com todas as suas transgressões; mas que sejam eles o *Ez 11.20;34.30;36.28meu povo, e seja eu o seu Deus, diz o Senhor Jeová.

A presença dos justos não é uma garantia para os maus

12 Veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 13 Filho do homem, quando contra mim pecar uma terra, *Ez 15.8;20.27cometendo uma transgressão, *Ez 6.14e eu estender a minha mão sobre ela, *Ez 5.16;Is 3.1e quebrar o báculo do seu pão, e enviar contra ela a fome, e dela *Ez 14.17,19,21exterminar homens e animais; 14 *Jr 15.1ainda que estivessem nela estes três homens, *Gn 6.8;7.1;Hb 11.7Noé, *Ez 28.3;Dn 1.6;9.21;10.11Daniel e *Jó 1.1,5;42.8-9Jó, livrariam eles tão somente *Ez 14.16,18,20;Ez 18.20as suas almas pela sua justiça, diz o Senhor Jeová. 15 Se eu fizer passar pela terra *Ez 14.21;Ez 5.17bestas-feras, e estas a despojarem, de sorte que seja desolada, sem que ninguém possa passar por ela por causa das feras, 16 embora estejam nela esses três homens, pela minha vida, diz o Senhor Jeová, não livrarão nem a seus filhos nem a suas filhas; *Ez 18.20;Gn 19.29eles tão somente serão livrados, mas a terra será desolada. 17 Ou, se eu fizer vir *Ez 14.21;Ez 5.12;11.8,10a espada sobre essa terra e disser: Espada, passa pela terra, de sorte que *Ez 14.13;Ez 25.13eu extermine dela homens e animais, 18 embora estejam nela esses três homens, pela minha vida, diz o Senhor Jeová, não livrarão nem a filhos nem a filhas, porém *Ez 14.14tão somente eles serão livrados. 19 Ou, se eu enviar a *Ez 14.21;Ez 5.12;Jr 14.12peste contra essa terra e derramar sobre ela o meu furor em sangue, a fim de exterminar dela homens e animais, 20 embora estejam nela *Ez 14.14Noé, Daniel e Jó, pela minha vida, diz o Senhor Jeová, não livrarão nem o filho nem a filha; eles tão somente livrarão *Ez 14.14,16,18as suas almas pela sua justiça.

21 Pois assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Quanto mais, quando eu enviar sobre Jerusalém os meus quatro juízos violentos, *Jr 15.2-3a espada, e a fome, e as feras, e *Am 4.6-10a peste, para exterminar dela homens e animais? 22 Contudo, eis que nela ficará *Ez 12.16um resto, que será tirado para fora, tanto filhos como filhas; eis que *Ez 6.9;7.16sairão a ter convosco, e *Ez 12.16;36.20vós vereis o seu caminho e os seus feitos. *Ez 16.54;31.16;32.31Ficareis consolados do mal que fiz vir sobre Jerusalém, sim, de tudo o que fiz sobre ela. 23 Eles vos consolarão, quando virdes o seu caminho e os seus feitos; e conhecereis que *Ez 6.10;8.6-18;9.8-9;Jr 7.17-18;22.8-9não fiz sem motivo tudo o que nela tenho feito, diz o Senhor Jeová.

1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me. 2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them? 4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols; 5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.*14.6 yourselves: or, others 7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself: 8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. 10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him; 11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, 13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: 14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:*14.15 spoil: or, bereave 16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.*14.16 in it: Heb. in the midst of it

17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it: 18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: 20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. 21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?*14.21 How…: or, Also when

22 Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it. 23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
