Faraó é admoestado pelo destino da Assíria

1 *Ez 30.20;32.1;Jr 52.5-6No undécimo ano, no terceiro mês, ao primeiro dia do mês, veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, dize a Faraó e à sua *Ez 29.19;30.10;Na 3.8-9multidão: *Ez 31.18;Is 14.13-14A quem és semelhante na tua grandeza? 3 Eis que *Na 3.1, etc.;Sf 2.13Assíria era um *Ez 31.16;Ez 17.3-4,22;Is 10.33-34;Dn 4.10,20-23cedro do Líbano, de ramos formosos, *Ez 17.23de ramagem sombria e *Ez 31.5,10;Is 10.33de alta estatura; e a sua copa se achava entre a densa ramada. 4 *Ez 17.5,8;Ap 17.1,15As águas nutriram-no, o abismo fê-lo crescer; os seus rios corriam em torno do seu plantio; e ele mandou os seus regatos a todas as árvores do campo. 5 Por isso, *Ez 31.3,10se elevou a sua estatura sobre todas as árvores do campo; multiplicaram-se *Sl 37.35os seus ramos e alongaram-se as suas varas por causa das *Ez 17.5;Sl 1.3muitas águas, quando os enviou. 6 Todas as *Ez 31.12-13;Ez 17.23;Dn 4.12,21;Mt 13.32aves do céu se aninhavam nos ramos dele, e, debaixo das suas varas davam à luz as suas crias todos os animais do campo, e, debaixo da sua sombra, habitavam todas as grandes nações. 7 Assim era ele *Ez 31.2,9formoso na sua grandeza, no cumprimento das suas varas, porque a sua raiz se achava junto a muitas águas. 8 Os *Ez 31.3;Sl 80.10cedros do *Ez 31.16,18;Ez 28.13;Gn 2.8-9;13.10;Is 51.3jardim de Deus não o podiam esconder; os ciprestes não eram como os seus ramos, e os plátanos não eram como as suas varas; nenhuma árvore do jardim de Deus se assemelhava a ele na sua formosura. 9 Fi-lo *Ez 16.14formoso pela multidão dos seus ramos; de maneira que tiveram inveja dele todas as árvores do Éden, que havia no jardim de Deus.

10 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Porquanto é *Ez 31.3,5elevado em estatura, e se elevou a sua copa entre a densa ramada, e *Ez 28.17;2Cr 32.25;Is 10.12;14.13-14;Dn 5.20o seu coração se levantou na sua altura, 11 entregá-lo-ei nas mãos do *Ez 30.10-11;32.11-12;Dn 5.18-19poderoso das nações; certamente, este há de tratar com ele. Eu o *Dt 18.12;Na 3.18lancei fora por causa da sua maldade. 12 Uns *Ez 7.21;28.7;30.12;Hc 1.6estrangeiros, *Ez 28.7;30.11;32.12os terríveis das nações, o exterminaram, e o deixaram; sobre os *Ez 32.5;35.8montes e em todos os vales, caíram as suas varas, e os seus ramos estão quebrados junto a todas as correntes da terra; todos os povos da terra *Ez 31.17;Dn 4.14;Na 3.17-18se retiraram da sua sombra e o deixaram. 13 Sobre a sua ruína habitarão todas as *Ez 31.6;Ez 29.5;32.4;Is 18.6aves do céu, e todos os animais do campo estarão sobre as suas varas; 14 para que nenhuma de todas as árvores junto às águas se exalte na sua estatura, nem levante a sua copa entre a densa ramada, nem se levantem na sua altura os seus poderosos, sim, todos os que bebem água, porque todos eles estão entregues *Ez 31.16-17à morte, *Ez 31.18;Ez 26.20;32.24;Nm 16.30,33;Sl 63.9;Am 9.2;Jn 2.2,6;Ef 4.9às partes inferiores da terra, no meio dos filhos dos homens, juntamente com os que descem à cova.

15 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: No dia em que ele *Ez 32.22-23desceu ao Sheol, *Ez 32.7;Na 2.10fiz que houvesse luto. Por causa dele, cobri o abismo e retive os seus rios, e ficaram paradas as grandes águas; e fiz que o Líbano o pranteasse, e todas as árvores do campo desfaleceram por causa dele. 16 Fiz *Ez 26.15;27.28;Ag 2.7estremecer as nações ao som da sua queda, quando *Ez 32.18;Is 14.15o lancei no Sheol juntamente com os que descem à cova; e todas as árvores do *Ez 31.8-9Éden, as escolhidas e as melhores do *Is 14.8;Hc 2.17Líbano, todas as que bebem água, foram *Ez 14.22-23;32.31consoladas nas *Ez 31.14,18partes inferiores da terra. 17 Juntamente com ele, *Sl 9.17desceram ao Sheol os que foram *Ez 32.18-20;Is 14.9;Na 3.17-18mortos à espada, sim, desceram com ele os que foram o seu braço e que habitavam *Ez 31.3,6;Dn 4.12debaixo da sua sombra, no meio das nações.

18 A *Ez 31.2;Ez 32.19-21quem és assim semelhante em glória e em grandeza entre as árvores do *Ez 31.8-9Éden? Contudo, serás precipitado juntamente com as árvores do Éden *Ez 31.14às partes inferiores da terra; no meio *Ez 28.10;32.19,21;Jr 9.25-26dos incircuncisos, te deitarás juntamente com os que forem *Ez 31.17mortos à espada. *Sl 52.7;Mt 13.19Este é Faraó e toda a sua multidão, diz o Senhor Jeová.

1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.*31.3 with fair branches: Heb. fair of branches 4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.*31.4 made…: or, nourished him*31.4 set…: or, brought him up*31.4 little rivers: or, conduits 5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.*31.5 when…: or, when it sent them forth 6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations. 7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters. 8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. 9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; 11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.*31.11 he…: Heb. in doing he shall do unto him 12 And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him. 13 Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches: 14 To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.*31.14 their trees…: or, stand upon themselves for their height 15 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.*31.15 to mourn: Heb. to be black 16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth. 17 They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
