Ezequiel 17

A parábola das duas águias e da videira

1 Veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, *Ez 20.49;24.3propõe um enigma e profere uma parábola à casa de Israel; 3 dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Uma grande *Ez 17.12;Jr 48.40;Os 8.1águia de *Dn 4.22grandes asas e de plumagem comprida, cheia de penas de várias cores, veio ao *Jr 22.23Líbano, e tomou *Ez 17.22o topo dum cedro; 4 arrancou o mais alto dos seus raminhos e levou-o à cidade do tráfico; pô-lo numa cidade de negociantes. 5 Também tomou da *Ez 17.13semente da terra e a plantou num *Dt 8.7-9solo frutífero; pô-la junto às muitas águas, e colocou-a como *Is 44.4salgueiro. 6 Ela cresceu e tornou-se numa vide larga, *Ez 17.14de pouca altura, para que os seus sarmentos se inclinassem para a tal águia, e as suas raízes estivessem debaixo dela; assim, se tornou uma vide, e produzia sarmentos, e brotava renovos.

7 Também houve *Ez 17.15outra grande águia de grandes asas e de muitas penas; eis que essa vide inclinou as suas raízes para ela e brotou os seus sarmentos para ela, desde as aréolas *Ez 31.4em que estava plantada, para que ela a regasse. 8 Numa *Ez 17.5boa terra junto a muitas águas estava ela plantada, para produzir sarmentos e dar fruto, a fim de que fosse uma vide excelente. 9 Dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Acaso, *Ez 17.10,15-21prosperará ela? Porventura, a águia não lhe arrancará as raízes e não lhe cortará o fruto, para que seque, para que sequem todas as suas folhas recém-nascidas? Não será necessário nem grande poder nem muita gente para a arrancar pelas suas raízes. 10 Eis que, depois de plantada, acaso, *Ez 17.15prosperará ela? Não *Ez 19.14;Os 13.15se secará de todo, quando a tocar o vento oriental? Secar-se-á nas aréolas onde cresceu.

Interpretação da parábola das águias e da videira

11 Demais, veio a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 12 Dize, pois, *Ez 2.3-5à casa rebelde: *Ez 12.9-11;24.19Não sabeis o que significam essas coisas? Dize-lhes: Eis que veio *Ez 17.3;Ez 1.2;2Rs 24.11-12,15o rei de Babilônia a Jerusalém, tomou o seu rei e os seus príncipes e fê-los recolher a si, a Babilônia; 13 tomou um *Ez 17.5;2Rs 24.17da estirpe real e fez aliança com ele; também recebeu dele *2Cr 36.13juramento e levou *2Rs 24.15-16os poderosos da terra, 14 para que o reino se conservasse *Ez 17.6;Ez 29.14abatido, de modo a não poder levantar-se; contudo, continuasse a existir, guardando a sua aliança. 15 Porém ele *Ez 17.7;2Rs 24.20;2Cr 36.13;Jr 52.3se rebelou contra o rei de Babilônia, enviando os seus embaixadores ao *Is 30.1-4;Jr 37.5-7Egito, para que lhe desse cavalos e muita gente. *Ez 17.9-10Acaso prosperará ele? *Ez 17.18;Jr 34.3;38.18,23Porventura, escapará aquele que faz tais coisas? 16 Pela minha vida, diz o Senhor Jeová, certamente, morrerá no lugar em que habita o rei que o fez reinar, cujo juramento *Ez 17.13,18-19;Ez 16.59;2Rs 24.17,20desprezou e cuja aliança violou, sim, morrerá com ele *Ez 12.13;Jr 52.11no meio de Babilônia. 17 Nem o ajudará na guerra *Ez 29.6-7;Is 36.6;Jr 37.5,7Faraó com o seu exército poderoso e companhia numerosa, quando se levantarem trincheiras e edificarem fortes, para a destruição de muitas pessoas. 18 Pois *Ez 17.16desprezou ao juramento, rompendo a aliança; eis que ele tinha *Lm 5.6dado a sua mão; contudo, fez todas essas coisas; *Ez 17.15não escapará. 19 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Pela minha vida, certamente, farei recair sobre a cabeça dele *Ez 17.13,16;Ez 16.59;21.23;Jr 7.9o meu juramento que desprezou e a minha aliança que violou. 20 Estenderei sobre ele a *Ez 12.13;32.3minha rede, e será *Jr 39.5-7apanhado no meu laço, e fá-lo-ei vir à Babilônia *Ez 20.35-36;Jr 2.35e lá entrarei em juízo com ele por causa *Ez 15.8;18.24da sua transgressão que cometeu contra mim. 21 Todos os seus *Ez 5.2,10,12-14;2Rs 25.5,11fugitivos, em todas as suas tropas, cairão à espada, e os que ficarem serão espalhados a todos os ventos; *Ez 6.7,10;13.14,23e sabereis que eu, Jeová, o disse.

22 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Também eu tomarei do alto do topo do cedro *Ez 34.29e o plantarei; e do mais alto dos seus raminhos quebrarei um que seja tenro *Ez 36.36e o plantarei sobre um *Ez 20.40;37.22;Sl 72.16alto e elevado monte. 23 No alto monte de Israel, o plantarei; ele produzirá ramos, dará fruto e far-se-á *Sl 92.12;Is 27.6um cedro excelente. *Ez 31.6;Os 14.5-7;Mt 13.31-32Debaixo dele, habitarão todas as aves de toda a sorte; à sombra dos seus ramos, habitarão. 24 Todas *Sl 96.12;Is 55.12as árvores do campo saberão que eu, Jeová, *Ez 21.26;1Sm 2.7-8;Is 2.13humilhei a árvore alta, exaltei a árvore baixa, *Ez 19.12sequei a árvore verde e fiz *Ez 37.3,13;Am 9.11reverdecer a árvore seca; eu, Jeová, falei e o fiz.

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel; 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:*17.3 divers…: Heb. embroidering 4 He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants. 5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.*17.5 planted…: Heb. put it in a field of seed 6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs. 7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation. 8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.*17.8 soil: Heb. field 9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof. 10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.

11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon; 13 And hath taken of the king’s seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:*17.13 taken an…: Heb. brought him to an oath 14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.*17.14 but…: Heb. to keep his covenant, to stand to it 15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered? 16 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die. 17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons: 18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head. 20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me. 21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent: 23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell. 24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.
